Beautiful surroundings. Love the Memory Care unit. A little far from Dahlonega for us.
One of my top choices
Very nice, relatively new. Kind of expensive. They start with a base rate and then keep adding for services so it ends up being rather expensive. Odor in the extreme dementia area; not enough one on one care? Starts at $2625 for a studio then add $300-$750 per month for help with meds, dressing, etc. Several of these things that we'd need.
Nice facility with plenty of outdoor sitting areas. Good Activity planning. Nice.
Beautiful but too far.
Oaks at Post Road has been in turmoil since just after Mom joined the community [date removed]She's lived through a major renovation that has yet to be completed, 4 directors and staff changes that go with that disruption. Staffing is an ongoing problem with more agency staff than company hires. Can't tell how many chefs have been hired and quit/fired, but Mom constantly complains about no fresh food. I was very disappointed with the new admin team. The resident died and when I went to chat with admin, I was told it was a new group. No empathy, care or any desire to talk with me. Very disappointed. If admin cannot provide the level of empathy and kindness the staff does, there's no team. Staff is outstanding. But poor leadership overshadows that level of service delivery. I can't recommend this place anymore like I used to.

Overall, we were not pleased @ the Oaks and moved him to another facility in January. The staff was overworked and there never enough caregivers. Sometimes there was only 1 caregiver for 10 residents. Phone calls were never returned. When I made my decision to move [name removed], the director was quite belligerent and very rude, even after I told her my oldest daughter had just been placed in hospice care that day. We had 2 family members in this residence and had to move both due to sub-par care. The first resident was improperly cared for after a fall and forced to stand on what ultimately was a broken hip. Reports of the incident were then inaccurately reported to the home office. Multiple attempts to work with the home office resulted in no returned phone calls and no corrective action.
