My adult daughter was transferred to this "facility" when she attempted suicide and having depression/anger issues. She was taken in at 2 am from LMH hospital and was pink slipped. When she arrived at this "facility" a "social worker" made her sign a paper in regards to involuntary release. This form was never explained to her in detail nor was she in a state of mind for her to sign such a legal document. She was in general population floor and never saw a medical profession if they even have one on staff. She didn't receive... read more
This hospital is one of the worst hospitals that I've ever been to in my life. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone. This hospital is a danger to the mental health system. Normally in a regular psychiatric hospital, you get seen by a Dr. or Nurse Practitioner everyday...You might get seen maybe every other day or maybe not even that. The MHA'S are completely rude, disrespectful and have no bedside manner at all. They always have a negative attitude when you ask them to do things that they are getting paid to do. The ... read more
Believe the negative reviews. I was there for about 5 days after having "suicidal thoughts." That's right. Just thoughts. I didn't actually DO anything, not even cutting. I was on my best behavior even with the rude, inconsiderate and humiliating way they treated me. I went to group therapy and kept all my visits with social workers and counselors. Yet they would've kept me even longer if I hadn't signed a 3 day notice! But let me give you some examples of things that happened during my stay: 1. They humiliated me by handin... read more
Oh No! Don't even think that this is a hospital. It's more like a prison. I had a stroke for I have masses in my brain that the emergency room at Berger Hospital did not find the new ones that are in the center of my brain. It took 16 days trying to pretend that I was not sick to get out of there. That's the last time I'll just do anything to get a ride to Columbus as I didn't have anyone to drive me to Riverside Hospital. NIGHTMARE1
Like many former patients of this psychiatric hospital, I would give it no stars if Yelp gave the option. My odyssey into the bowels of Hell on Earth began when I made the stupid error of attempting suicide by drug overdose on 09/27/16. First, I was transported by EMS to a nearby emergency room where I evaluated for the drug overdose and then "pink-slipped" and transported to Ohio Hospital For Psychiatry (OHP). Upon arriving at OHP, I was still strapped appropriately to a gurney. Now mind you, I had taken a drug overdose..... read more
I sooooo wish I had the option to give them 0 stars. They are truly horrible. I came to be there due to an adverse reaction to an anti-anxiety medication I was taking. I was sexually harassed, purposely mislead, and was told to just play along with the program if I hoped to leave. Below are some of the highlights of me experience. Sexual Harassment: During my admission process, both patients, as well as male nurses, made sexual comments about my clothes and the size of my breasts (May 24, 2015). My mother contacted the fa... read more
I wish I could give OHP zero stars. The Yelp system won't let me. Do not allow your loved one to be sent to this facility. My father was an inpatient there for 31 days and was discharged and died four days later. He had Alzheimer's and was difficult to handle, so the nursing home (Columbus Alzheimer's Care Center) demanded that he be admitted to a psych unit and made arrangements with Ohio Hospital for Psychiatry. From day one in that facility, my dad (81 years old) was overmedicated and restrained (confined to a chair,... read more
There were barely any groups despite the packed schedule that was posted on the wall. The only group we had every day was goals group and recreational therapy. All we did was sit around and watch TV. Not very therapeutic if you ask me. I talked to one of the aides one night and asked her to relay what I said to the daytime nursing staff which she didn't and another aide attempted to "help" me by talking to me but he just belittled me instead. He told me other people had much worse problems than mine. It took 3 days for them ... read more
Please if you really care for your loved one dont send them here. I was a patient and not only did I not receive treatment for grief counseling but was treated like a prisoner. No employee ever introduced themselves or their title because we were "patients: not people. I could go on and on. I have a B.S from OSU and had never had a previous psychological condition. I went home with lice because of a homeless man I would sit next to. The bites on my legs caused intense itching which I complained about while a patient and w... read more
