I took in my 8 year old dog who had lost a lot of weight and had severe abdominal swelling. The entire staff was very courteous (as always) and then very sympathetic when I got the news that Bodie had a massive tumor. I especially want to thank Dr. Schroeder for giving me the news and options in a professional and honest way. Having to put Bodie down was hard but not nearly as difficult as having to continue watching him suffer. Thank you.
Several years ago I had a 180 pound English Mastiff that was deathly afraid of a car who had gotten very sick quickly. It was a winter day with icy weather predicted and EVERY vet I called that had a mobile service would absolutely NOT come to my house to see him. Even with my pleas and tears no one would help me. I called Oldtown Vet and told them my dilemma. They asked me to hold and put Dr. Gates on the phone with me (I had never been a patient there). RecommendedIt's been a over two weeks since my Moses left us. It took every bit of two weeks before I was able to think about writing this post. Oldtown Veterinary Hospital treated us (and Moses) very well through this ordeal. Dr. Gates was especially kind that day. If you need a vet and live in the Winston area, Oldtown is excellent. Moses was a ferocious beast who never took kindly to anyone but his own people touching him. Everyone at Oldtown took the best care of him he would allow. Oldtown Veterinary Hospital pulled through for my American Eskimo dog who decided to pulled one of his front dew claws by doing a 360 in the air to try to catch a fly in our kitchen. Yes Dakota is a very active 6 year old dog!!! Thank you Dr. Redder, both mom and dad were very impressed with how you took care of the emergency. Also thank you to the vet tech that was there also. We also were very impressed with how Dr.Strickland handled his well visit. Keep it up!!!

I found OTV'S Dr. Schroeder when my beloved border collie was at the end of his life. It was time to let him go and Dr. S came to our home for the last good-byes. I will be forever grateful. Now they take excellent care of my remaining dog.
