Palo Alto Commons is 2nd to none. I moved mom to Palo Alto Commons immediately after we learned Lili was the director there. We had gotten to know her at a prior facility, as an experienced, hardworking and detail-oriented leader who knows the complexity of helping seniors. It was the best move we ever made. My mom has dementia tat Bruce Willis has, losing her ability to find words. It was tough to see that decline. She thrives here. First thing I noticed was the beautiful gathering spaces which are warm and inviting as... read more
Loved working there! The staff and residents are resilient and fun to be with and around! Loved doing Activities with the residents in Assisted Living! Enjoyed giving rides to residents! Enjoyed talking with everyone and made several friends!! Miss everyone!
Attentive, kind, compassionate, thoughtful care. Nursing staff provides excellent care and other care staff have been wonderful. Cheerful, knowledgeable. Li Li, the director has been kind, compassionate and supportive. My mother is in assisted living with a need for continuous oxygen and with memory issues. My mother and I have received an amazing amount of support from staff. The nursing director, Trish, is particularly amazing as are the wonderful, attentive nurses, caretaking staff and concierge services. Their jobs ... read more
My mother wanted to age in place at home, so we brought in caregivers 24/7. As her dementia progressed, it became difficult to provide the care she needed. She was getting agitated and depressed and we were concerned for her safety as well as the caregiver's. She has been a resident in the Meadow Wing for four months now and she is doing great! The staff are cheerful, experienced and dedicated to their jobs and to the well being of the residents. They handle every situation with compassion and grace, and they have the experi... read more
We moved my mom into the memory care unit at Palo Alto Commons last July. She had Alzheimers for several years and was at home with in home care since 2016. She needed more stimulation and a social setting but also needed supervision and verbal cuing for some activities. After personally touring over a dozen facilities in the Bay Area, I thought that Palo Alto Commons was the best of the lot. The buildings are always clean and smell fresh. Some of the other facilities I saw were pretty bad. They either had an odor, were vi... read more
I am the trustee for a dear friend who has lived in the Memory Unit at Palo Alto Commons for a year and a half. Although he has dementia, he has found a caring community in which he can socially thrive. He participates in a wide range of activities, finds people to talk to when he wants a break from the group, and is able to be outside whenever the weather permits. Staff members relate to him as an individual for whom they have great respect. I see this same caring approach with the other residents as well. The professio... read more
My father has been living at PA Commons for three years now. He is in the Meadow Wing because he has Alzheimers. I am most impressed with the management and the staff. They are all dedicated to providing a healthy environment and stimulating program. The staff in the Meadow Wing have some of the hardest jobs dealing with residents with dementia who can be difficult, very difficult! Each staff member is gracious, caring, kind and professional. On behalf of my entire family, we feel so fortunate to have Dad in their care.
My father lived at Palo Alto Commons for a couple of years until he passed away. We moved him there from Sunrise in Sunnyvale. I can't say enough great things about the caring staff. What impressed me the most on our first visit was how happy the staff looked, especially compared to almost every other place we looked at. He was happy and very well cared for, and treated with respect. The facility is warm and comfortable and the grounds are lovely.
My father lived at Palo Alto Commons for a number of years. I was so pleased with the care and attention he received each and every day. I think the loving staff members are the heart of this community. I have friends that have had other family members in various communities and no one seemed to feel their loved one received the same consistent quality care as I felt my father did.
