I am very annoyed with Pet Paradise as a whole. We are inbetween moving houses, which is always chaotic and stressful. Our sweet pup wasn't taking the chaos well so we decided to take him to day camp at Pet Paradise in Tampa on 6/19 so we could move in. We walked inside, showed our records, signed the form, and our dog was on his way. No problems. We came back to Gainesville to clean up the home and decided to take him to Pet Paradise here. This place appears very nice and organized with picking times that your dog can have individual, group or day camp play time but they did not follow the schedule at all. In fact, my dog didn't get let out once on the first day he was there because of a mix up of the schedule that we had already clarified when we got there. In the past, you may have noticed that I have given this place a one star but after our recent experience I would change it to zero stars. This was my second time taking my dog to this place. I honestly really trusted this place to actually take care of my dog! Whoever recently took their dog or EVEN your cat PLEASE check them for fleas! My dog went into the place WITHOUT ANY fleas and once we got him back he had ADULT FLEAS! His entire stomach and legs were covered in sores because of the fleas biting him. I left my Great Dane, Levi, at Pet Paradise for a 5 night stay. Understanding that a Dane has special needs, I asked if they had experience with them and facilities to fit their needs. They of course assured me that they regularly care for Danes and everything would be fine. When dropping him off I had to assist in walking him back, as I have to do at the vet, because he is a bit too attached and the girl taking him back weighed less than he does. haha. When we called to book our cat to be boarded we reached a voicemail advising us to book online to make the reservation so we did. After making the reservation, the site thanked us for the booking and advised us to print off a form and bring it in when we dropped off our pet. Wow. We took our dog here and expected great things. We got the polar opposite. I will lead in with the fact that I am sure this place is great for 99% of the pets that go there. Just not ours, who had some special needs going in. Our dog has a dry eye issue and specific instructions were given at check in. They assured us that they have experience with this condition.
