I was a regular user of the services but had not used the service in a while. I attempted to call on May 29th and 30th, but their phone system would not permit contact with the facility. I finally drove to the location with my dog, hoping to get him boarded. He's an intact dog, and upon check-out, I received a bill for $74 vs $54. That's a 37% up-charge b/c he required one-on-one playtime. I, for one, will not use the facility given the additional fees. The location is far from G'ville. Well, for my Goldendoodle, this was more like pet purgatory than pet paradise. She does suffer from separation anxiety; however, I feel like they rushed her into a kennel and didn't try and work with her. They said she nipped at their receptionist which does not make sense because my husband dropped her off and saw her in the kennel watching the other dogs play. Booked daycare for my dog the day before drop off. I was told that I could drop my dog off between 7 and 7:30 AM and he would get a vaccine that was required after that. Upon dropping my dog off the rude front desk supervisor told me all the reasons why they were not supposed to take my dog today however they took the dog. The facility looks great for boarding but I would not recommend grooming here. I brought my cockapoo to have her groomed and she came back to me with her head completely shaved including her ears! It looks absolutely awful! I agree she had some matting on one ear but never in my estimation did i expect a completely shaved dog!! I have brought her elsewhere numerous times and they have NEVER completely shaved her head. I only tried Pet Paradise because i was hoping it would be cheaper and it wasn't! I won't be going back

The facility is nice and people very kind to the dogs. Thus not 1 star. My dog got kennel cough there last week and was already coughing when I picked her up. They have a vet on site but did not call to see if I wanted my dog to be seen. Instead I get a silly report card telling me what fun she had. I would rather they pay attention to the dog's health. I have been a loyal customer for years. The previous management granted me a 20% discount which the new management will not honor. That says a bit about their integrity. My... read more

I am very annoyed with Pet Paradise as a whole. We are inbetween moving houses, which is always chaotic and stressful. Our sweet pup wasn't taking the chaos well so we decided to take him to day camp at Pet Paradise in Tampa on 6/19 so we could move in. We walked inside, showed our records, signed the form, and our dog was on his way. No problems. We came back to Gainesville to clean up the home and decided to take him to Pet Paradise here. This place appears very nice and organized with picking times that your dog can have individual, group or day camp play time but they did not follow the schedule at all. In fact, my dog didn't get let out once on the first day he was there because of a mix up of the schedule that we had already clarified when we got there. In the past, you may have noticed that I have given this place a one star but after our recent experience I would change it to zero stars. This was my second time taking my dog to this place. I honestly really trusted this place to actually take care of my dog! Whoever recently took their dog or EVEN your cat PLEASE check them for fleas! My dog went into the place WITHOUT ANY fleas and once we got him back he had ADULT FLEAS! His entire stomach and legs were covered in sores because of the fleas biting him. I left my Great Dane, Levi, at Pet Paradise for a 5 night stay. Understanding that a Dane has special needs, I asked if they had experience with them and facilities to fit their needs. They of course assured me that they regularly care for Danes and everything would be fine.
