I bought this unit to replace a 12 year old ... I bought this unit to replace a 12 year old Polaris. I didn't realise how slow tired the old unit had become until I saw this one in action. You can spend a lot more money on similar units but I don't know why you would need to.

Great cleaner! We bought this to replace a much more expensive model that only lasted a few years. This one cleans better! The seller got it to me quickly as well.
Love it, but there are some design flaws when ... Love it, but there are some design flaws when compared to my older model. The zipper on the bag gets stuck and I have a feeling it will become a problem. (The old velcro closure works better.) Also, there's a plastic cuff attached to the net bag that is already beginning to tear off, but the polaris itself is fast and does a great job!
Cut the hose to the proper length to ensure effective cleaning Significant improvement in cleaning over my old unit. I did find the instructions on cutting the hose confusing - I watched a couple of Utube videos to confirm my understanding.
Five Stars Cleans the pool effectovely
A necessity for your pool This is the second 280 for me. The first lasted 7 years and in that time was used every day year-round. My first 280 spent 4 years living under a giant water oak tree and the tree dropped leaves, acorns, branchlettes, and even a squirrel into the pool almost year-round. It performed admirably for me.
