About this business
The 280 is a work house. Had the previous one for 12 years. Replaced a few minor parts over the years but it always worked well. Made sense to replace with the same model, as the reviews are still good. The new one plugged in and took off cleaning with no adjustment needed.

Purchased the Polaris 280 Black Max from Wal-Mart a few weeks ago to replace an old 280. No problem with purchase and delivery. After only a few days, the Polaris would lay on it's side when not operating and rolled on it's side when operating. It seemed the hose float was filling with water. We switched it for our old Polaris hose float and it's working ok. A few days later the wall hose connector on the new Polaris broke. This pool shark as we call it is ok. It seems to to the job but has had to have parts replaced. It spits out water often and gets stuck. Overall I would rate it as ok.

I have been using the Polaris 280 for 2 weeks now and love the product. I did go on YouTube before installing to learn some tricks from other users to make it work better, like measuring the length of the hose and adding a simple clasp to not have the bag get stuck under the wheels. Works like a charm.

This is my 3rd Polaris. The product is good, but it is not always reliable. It gets stuck in corners, despite the backup valve. The new one doesn't get as tangled as its predecessor, presumably because the floats are new and the hose has been now been cut to size.
