Great restaurant for dining before a performance at Carnegie hall or NY City Center. This was our first time there in several years. Staff/service was excellent and very friendly. We shared a Caesar salad with anchovies (definitely sized for two people to share) and then both had seafood dishes for our main course (black cod and crab cake). The kitchen was definitely having problems timing meals. The appetizers in the salads came out at the exact same time and five minutes later they showed up with the entrée we had to send it back and get it when we were ready. Overall service was slow after that.
One of my new favorite places, twice now near city center that I frequent. Shrimp spicy bang bang. Salads Cobb both chicken and lobster. We spilt a double chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Lovely
We came to the Redeye Grill with two friends who had never been there before. We were going to a concert across the street at Carnegie Hall and wanted a great place to go. We have eaten many times before at the Redeye. The manage with whom be booked the reservation was off the day we went and, please excuse my misspelling, Gertle was the manager on duty that evening and he was GREAT.
