Our experience was marred by a waiter dropping a plate next to us and literally spraying cocktail sauce over me and my wife. Blobs of red sauces on our clothes, in our hair, etc. It was pretty bad. And we weren’t the only targets. I’ve worked in food service and accidents happen. When such things happened we were told to immediately apologize, clean up, and fetch the manager who would again apologize while a team cleaned up the area and the guests, and offer comped drinks, deserts, whatever was appropriate given the damage. ... read more
We have been going to The Redeye Grill for quite some time now. The last couple of time we went, we were very disappointed. However, last night was excellent. The service was excellent, the food was excellent and the ambiance was excellent. We were very pleased and happy to see the restaurant restored to it's usual excellance.
Hadn’t been in years. Vibrant energy and friendly service but food didn’t match the spirit. The heralded dancing shrimp was greasy and heavy, and the miso cod was laden with mushrooms and an unnecessary broth(though recommended as ‘the best dish’ by the server. Wanted to love this neighborhood spot given how we feel about the sister restaurant Trattoria DelArte but the latter is the definitive winner.
The restaurant was very busy and hectic, probably due to private parties. Initially we were shown to a very small table. After sensing our dissatisfaction, the manager found a better table and gave us each a glass of prosecco. The food (black cod and chilean sea bass) was excellent. This restaurant is very convenient to Carnegie Hall and is a great place to dine pre-theater.
I made a reservation for Redeye Grill based on the overall rating and number of reviews. I made this reservation for a business dinner. Unfortunately, this wasn't the best place. The paper menus upon arrival started the dinner off on the wrong foot. The waiter seemed too busy to stand at our table long enough to take one of my associates' order. He only came back to deliver the food, never checking on us. The food was good. Overall, this place was definitely a letdown.
Booked for Thanksgiving Dinner. The ambiance was subdued. Live music was humdrum. Food was average. Service was good.
This was our choice for Thanksgivng Dinner and it was wonderful. Great food, great service and great evening with a wonderful piano player. We stayed at the Park Central Hotel next to the Redeye Grill and was very convenient for us. Classy but comfortable for a Business Casual Dinner. We will be back!
It was a lovely experience dining at Redeye Grill for my daughter's birthday! The food and drinks were delicious. She loved the cotton candy with sparkler brought to the table by our attentive waiter. We will definitely return.
I chose the Red Eye Grill because I knew it would not disappoint. I was talking a friend out to brunch and then a show at the Neil Simon theater. Everything was wonderful!!!
