Dr. Powell has been my orthopedic surgeon for 15+ years. I’ve had numerous very serious sports-related surgeries and I’ve recovered from all of them. These negative reviews bother me because his expertise is second to none, and the quality of life he’s helped me maintain after all these surgeries, I’m forever grateful. He was the women’s USA soccer team official orthopedic surgeon for crying out loud!

Dr. Powell understood my pain, and his staff took it upon themselves to follow up and make sure I scheduled the surgery. I was scared, and they followed through and made sure it went perfectly. Dr. Powell's work was beautiful. I'm still at 110%, 4 years later.

Came to see dr. Powell after a small motorcycle accident which separated my clavicle. He put me into physical therapy. But he disappeared after my 2nd week of treatment while myself and the physical therapist waited for him to sign off on something specific regarding my treatment plan. Weeks went by, no treatment and no Powell. My treatment lapsed and now I have permanent pain & nerve damage. Also enjoying the migraines I get every few weeks. I contacted the office three times to discuss what happened and there has never bee... read more

Dr. Powell sent my son for MRI and Xrays. The day of the surgery he cut my son open and then realized that he needed cartilage and a meniscus disc. They sewed him back up and did not complete the surgery. He has been in pain for 2 weeks. I got calls to pay $7500 upfront before surgery. They called my 18 year old son. I called the insurance company. I called and called. It all boils down to money... My son has to be in more pain until he gets the help he needs. What else can a mom do...

Business response:

The only time this happens is when there is a irreparable tear and this cannot be determined by MRI and cartilage transplant is the only option. If anyone would call my office and biller no one would charge this. It is determined by what the insurance would pay.

When i visted the office for the first time, the whole waiting room had been waiting for an hour and 15 minutes. Patients were expressing frustration, and one man had to go back to work and re-schedule his appointment for another day, There was no sign of any staff being sorry nor accountable, that people had to wait that long, or that there were poor, disorganized scheduling procedures in place. The doctor was very arrogant and apathetic about it.

Business response:

We are sorry for your waiting times. Sometimes there are emergencies that we see and i have made sure my new staff is aware of communicating to patients before and during their visits
