My father had a very short stay here, but honestly, I wish it was shorter. I don't care that this is the best and newest facility in the East Bay. Facilities, private rooms with individual bathrooms, fancy extra curriculars and good food do NOT make up for incompetent staff. You will be impressed with that way Shadelands looks when you walk in, but the second you are there as a patient and need something, get ready to wait for at least 15+ minutes. Please do not trust Shadelands with your loved ones! They agreed to accept my father while he was recovering from surgery. Literally, the day we were supposed to transport him to Shadelands, they backed out of their commitment to take him and left us scrambling to find a new place for him. I spoke to the director on the phone, and he made it clear that they had a Medicare review coming up and withdrew their acceptance of my father because they did not want to deal with our family.
