The food and service were very good. Earnest at the bar was very knowledgeable and is an absolute asset to the restaurant.

Lovely tasting food although some dishes were a bit querky. The ham hock late had a big chunk of carrot in the middle of it. The food was slightly over priced. The main reason I wouldn't recommend was the drink prices. £16.95 for a 175ml glass of white wine left me leaving with a sour taste in my mouth. Nice touch providing a slice of birthday cake.
Now open for breakfast service too with their usual high levels of attention to both food and service.
We booked last minute on a Saturday night as we were let down by another restaurant. The steak here is excellent - as you would expect, as is the service. I have been twice before and the food is of a consistently high quality. If you have the option, ask to be seated upstairs as there is slightly more of a vibe there. Downstairs is fine, a little quieter - given we booked with an hours warning on a busy night we were not expecting otherwise.
They did make a mistake with our order but sorted it immediately when I told them. Great service and the Manager came over to apologise and had everything fixed within minutes. The food was excellent!! Well done S&W on looking after your customers. When a negative is turned into a positive, it always has a more profound effect. Thank you for looking after us.
Chosen as a close by place for a pre-theatre dinner as they had a special menu and close to our hotel. Realised we have discovered a true gem once we arrived. Great decor and feel on arrival, amazing menu and super polite and attentive service. Definitely going to be visiting again to go through the main menu and sample some amazing looking steaks !!
