This is a long over due review, My 14 ,month old pom had a accident the day before christmas eve, she fell three stories i frantically took her to another "emergency" office they gave her a pain shot and gave me some referrals for orthopedic surgeons and none of the doctors could get her in for surgery until mid jan. I was very pleased with my visit. I had a appointment with Dr. Jeffrey Stuerer for my 4 year old Yorkshire Bear. My dog was vomiting blood and had been to 3 vets while trying to figure out what was wrong with him. Bear was diagnosed with Valley fever and had possibly a lung lobe torsion (twist). With covid, I was still allowed to go inside with my dog which I appreciated greatly. Was just in here with my German shepherd who has been diagnosed with a anal hernia by two other doctors and needs surgery. He was previously examined without sedation . The team here was insisting he be sedated and they charge $600 to evaluate. The doctors bed side manner was one of the worst I have seen. When I questioned the bill she brought in three large men like the mafia --- wrong look. Then she said take it or leave it . Looked up the reviews after that experience and left . I do not recommend .

I've been caring for my parent's dog since my father went to the hospital a month ago. She saw our regular vet who referred us for surgery. I took her in for a consult on a Monday and they scheduled surgery for Friday. I received at least 5 emails and texts between Monday and Friday, explaining what to expect and what to bring to surgery. When I dropped her off, the paperwork I signed mentioned a deposit. MAKE SURE TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILLING INVOICE! After this place killed my dog in December 2021, I finally gained the strength to compare the medical records to the charges I was billed and found numerous discrepancies. This place even charged me for medication that I brought with my dog! Southwest Vet is in it for the money. Additionally, the doctors are condescending, will speak over you and are frustrated by questions. After spending more than $10k on TWO surgeries they charged me a consultation fee of $140 instead of the $50 recheck fee when I had additional concerns about my pet's progress. I do not recommend SW Vet Surgical Service, please run away and seek a second opinion! I wish I would have and I will NEVER be able to forgive myself, my dog would still be alive today if I got a second opinion. They pushed me to into surgery for my dog, which was unnecessary and now my dog is dead. My dog died within 3 hours of coming home. My dog had a mass on his spleen and a mass on his pancreas. The two separate masses in different organs with enlarged lymph nodes surrounding the masses gave several specialists cause for concern and surgical biopsies were the only way to rule out malignancy that may have been present. Had an appointment today at 10:30 with Dr. Schaible attendant welcomed me and my dog took notes and took my dog to another room. I waited in the exam room till 12:00 Doctor never came in went out to the front desk asked for my dog and left. Oh the girl that brought me my dog of course said "The Doctor was just getting ready to come and see you" Sat there for 11/2 hours and never saw the Doctor. I let you make up your mind!

Honestly not surprised in the slightest by the negative reviews. My visit here was a waste of my time and money. I had a referral from my regular vet for a perineal hernia, they tell me there's nothing wrong with him and send me on my way (didnt ask if they could do an ultrasound) I go to another doctor a week later, they diagnose it as a hernia and do an ultra sound to make sure, IT WAS A PERINEAL HERINA. Thanks southwest for wasting my time and charging me to misdiagnose.
