Build contract signed 1/25/2025 for a 1600 sq ft Barndo. Today it is still not finished. Their turnkey is **, in fact I lost of count of how many times they have contacted me for a turnkey build. > 100 in 15 mos. during my work hrs. Had I know i was going to put in part time work to have my place completed, I would have chose another builder. In addition....they advertise on their turn key builds item not included in photos and dont ask if you want them in contract -- until after the mortgage is signed off nd then they start... read more
Business response:
*** ********** project was drastically delayed through no fault of Summertown Metals. The culvert & bridge used to access his property was washed away & the job site was inaccessible for several months. On more than one occasion, *** ******** has had issues with certain finishes on his home, for example, he chose a specific color of stone for his rock wainscotting, which we installed - he claimed he didn't like the look because there was "not enough earth tones" in the coloration. Summertown Metals, at no cost to the client,... read more
Spent well over $100,000 on two structures in 2025. Sub-contractors were great but customer service from Summertown Metals is non-existent!!!! Spent 6 months just trying to get someone from customer service to have a door properly hung for the 3rd attempt, metal trim applied to 4 rafters as is normal expected construction along with fascia applied to rafter tails on two porches. Roughly one day labor for two carpenters. Supplies were already at jobsite! One carpenter was sent to finish door and I agreed to do fascia myself l... read more
Business response:
*** ****** claim that Summertown Metals initiated an arbitration demand is completely inaccurate. Summertown regrets if it took 3 attempts to properly hang *** ****** door. However, the rafter trim and fascia discussed was not a part of *** ****** contract, nor did *** ****pay for any such labors. *** ****was informed of this. *** **** purchased the trim & fascia material on his own. He was originally told that Summertown was happy to put it up for the cost of the labor, but did not agree with this proposal* *** **** was the... read more
I’ve been working with Summertown for over one year now. If I could give them a zero star rating I would. They said the project would take about six weeks. I figured 8 to 12 weeks would be plenty of time. Here we are one year later. They’re 6 to 700 items that still need fixed. I talked to Matt, one of the owners on the phone, 1 June, I told him his company didn’t care about our project. He assured me they did. It took 2 1/2 months to fix the worst horrible job I’ve ever seen in my life. Then, of course after fix the very ne... read more
Summertown built a building I cannot use because the concrete floor is 4 inches above grade. The sliding barn doors go down to grade level, so there is a 4-inch step into the garage. Now I can't get my equipment in there. I called to ask for help and they told me to just add a ramp with a gap for the doors. This is a stupid solution. I just looked on their website and saw many pictures of similar buildings with barn doors. None of them have this issue. So, I have to assume they are just lying to me because they don't want to... read more
Horrible Marketing/Follow-Up. The company makes the sales first and blindly and casually leads the customer through a “owner contractor” clause. This is very misleading if you’re a regular “Joe” trying to purchase and have built on your property. These are the professionals that know “all” the particulars of building codes etc. In my experience the emphasis on “owner contractor” should be first and far most the cardinal rule established and completed before making the sale. My experience was and still is horrible. If the bus... read more
We are dealing with a leaking roof they have been here 3 times trying to fix it and it’s still leaking as of today!! We won’t our roof fixed we still have a warranty under them but they’re not fixing our roof properly. What can we do?? We paid $290k for our house and we should not have all these problems that we have to deal with now!!
I was sent the wrong material for my building and was told they have no idea if I can get an exchange for the correct material required. So I’m left with $1200.00 worth of material I can’t use.
I HAD A BUILDING INSTALLED FROM SUMMERTOWN METALS . THEY WAS CONTRACTED TO DO FROM START TO FINISH AND THE BUILDING IS GOOD . THIS IS WHERE THE PROBLEM BEGINS THE CONCRETE IS CRACKED IN 1 SPOT 16 FEET LONG AND HAS ABOUT A 3/8 OF A INCH GAP THEY LOOKED AT THE GROUND AND SAID ALL THEY NEEDED WAS GRAVEL TO FILL IN A FEW AREAS . I CALLED THEM TOOK THEM 4 WEEKS TO GET BACK WITH ME THEN ANOTHER 2 WEEKS BEFORE THEY SHOWED UP . THEN HE SAYS GIVE ME A FEW DAYS I WILL GET BACK WITH YOU THAT DID NOT HAPPEN . TALKED TO ANOTHER GUY HE CA... read more
Horrible customer service, flippant disregard to concerns, disrespectful contractors topped with poor quality and craftsmanship. Avoid at all cost. Contractors left behind their beer cans. I have a camera on the property and certain they drank while "working". Didn't finish the job and seem unwilling to complete it.
