I would give them a 2 out of 5. I loved the apartment. I hated the food and it's unimaginative Daily menus. For instance: I would revue the Weekly menu and decide which meals I would go to. Usually it was 1 per day but sometimes because there was bacon I would go for breakfast and EITHER lunch or dinner. It was great for my diet. I lost 7 lbs while I was there. The reason I gave activities with three is because with my husband he has some memory issues and they don't engage him in the activities nor do they give him a Calendar of the activities so he's sitting there in his room, left to his own devices and so that part I'm not pleased with Everything else is fine

It's not family, but have good friends. I get special meals when requested . Bus is important for appointments. My apartment is comfortable. I love the gardens & trees. Music is ok but loud for hearing aids. Pets are happy too.

I understand memory care is expensive but having 2 nurses for a memory care floor just doesn't seem like enough. I've had to do bathroom duty for my mom when I visit because I can't find a nurse to help. That's what we are paying for. I would recommend this community to other families, because overall it's a good place.

We appreciate constructive feedback, but in this particular case, we cannot comment publicly about the care of a particular resident due to HIPAA privacy laws. That said, we take the word “care” seriously and only want the best for our community and all the residents.
Sun City Gardens is very disorganized and has no systems in place to manage resident's care in the Memory Care unit. The management seems overwhelmed and unable to make needed changes. The Director of the facility changed 3 times within the 7 months my husband lived there. It has since changed again. ( So, 4 directors in 8 months.) The caregivers are not well trained in dealing with anyone with behaviors. At least 4 do not understand English well and 99% of the patients are English speaking. The facility are not providing proper meals that are listed on the menu and are giving them sandwiches. Residents are not able to get internet access at the moment and I would not recommend.
