Dad moved here and loves his apartment. He is a picky eater and told us the food is "delicious." Everything is brand new since this just opened in 2020. Dad's apartment even has a nice screened in balcony where he can sit and have his morning coffee and read the paper. The staff is always friendly and does everything they possibly can to make sure he gets his meds several times a day. We chose Sunflower Springs because it was brand new, he was one of the first residents there so there was no history of medical illnesses such as covid, etc. The staff members are new so they had some kinks, but they have been absolutely wonderful with working everything out. They are very responsive to my phone calls and questions. They really cater to the residents here, for example if you do not like what is being served, they offer you other options. I would absolutely recommend the facility and already have.
This place looks like it is going to be beautiful. although it is not finished I love how the rooms are set up. I will revisit in a month to see the progress. I am very excited about this one.
Communication between staff and management is poor. Reported to staff my 91yo mother had UTI symptoms. Took a week to get orders to collect urine. Then the sample remained in specimen fridge x 6 days; never picked up by lab. Lack QA procedures. Informed by Director of sales when I signed contract , the community fee would be refunded if we moved my mother out within 30 days. I moved her out in 25 days. No response to my email now past 7 days.
Our dad lived here, last week the building had been in quarantine we walked into dad's room and it was horrible the condition it was in. Old food everywhere in containers. Bed sheets soiled with feces as well as on the carpet. It was extremely unacceptable. We as family spent 90 minutes cleaning the apartment. When management was approached all I got was excuses and I'm sorry. No charge in protocol will take place very disappointed in this facility
There are a few members of the staff with attitudes. I believe that there is a tolerance that can be exceeded when dealing with old, in firmed, and feeble people. I might add this extends to the people who care about the residents. The pervasive behavior is that of annoyance and intrusion. Also, unresponsive attention to patient perceived problems.
The activities were very limited and we felt that they had lied to us about certain things. Overall our family just had a bad experience.
