Older motel, in process of a much needed remodel. Our room was at the end of the hall, near an exit door, but we couldn't use the door to access the parking lot. The room has a joke of a sink, with no counter space at all for toiletries. We had to stack our toiletries on our cooler, which then blocked the door. The A/C unit took some fiddling with to turn on. The window had no screen, so we couldn't use the window for ventilation. Nice front staff, though. Clean breakfast area, but no protein (unless you call sugary Yoplait protein). more »

Hotel was comfortable enough, but furnishings and bedding need replacement. The blanket had a hole in it and the comforter had tears in it. The ottoman had a large stain on it about 6" in diameter, and the upholstered chair had a 3" section along a seam that was frayed. The walls were thin and the plumbing was very noisy; when the neighbors turned on their water, it sounded like the water was running in our room. Breakfast was good, with waffle irons available, raisin bran and frosted flakes, instant oatmeal, various bread/pastries, yogurt, juice, and coffee/tea. Not good if you want something that's not sweet though. more »

Overall great experience. Check in staff Cindy is excellent. So of my rooms furniture is beat up and some of the showers have flaking paint. But it is convenient for a commercial driver. Would live to see move variety for breakfast. At least boiled eggs. Im here every single week more »

I was reluctant but the price and location convinced me to at least check it out. I'm glad I deed. It was freshly renovated with clean ,new carpet and a fresh coat of paint. The front desk clerk was helpful and friendly. I spoke to my daughter standing outside of a store(through my window$ more »

used to be cheaper before all the upgrades were performed, but nicer than I remember a couple years ago. also, they've finally added fresh waffles to their super start breakfast. downside however, is that the matresses are pretty broke down. clean though more »

Not bad
Pros: clean and comfortable. Glad they had a waffle maker for breakfast area.
Cons: kind of creeky and noisy - could hear above us a lot.
Location: very close to Outlet mall.
Restaurants nearby, including Denny's next door. Gilroy Gardens is just a few miles away.
Have stayed here before. It's not the fanciest or best place around - but it does the job fine. Comfortable rooms and bed. Not huge rooms, but sufficient. Noticed they did some remodeling in the lobby - looks better, brighter and bigger. Breakfast area is bigger also - with more choices than before. Had a discount coupon from Expedia that I used - so that made the price pretty good. I'd stay again - my 9 year old likes it.

We were pleasantly surprised at this motel. It was clean, nice, and the breakfast was great. Blueberry waffles were a hit. We were NOT happy with the front desk clerks - not the afternoon one, nor the one the next morning. We felt they were rude, condescending, and that we were interrupting more important stuff. What, I don't know. We are easy going and friendly people - so we know it was not us. If they are going to be working with the public, they should take lessons in - smiling, being nice, and appearing to enjoy where they are. I don't think either one of those young ladies smiled once - more »

WE stayed here on Christmas on our way further south after helping with feeding the homeless and then driving almost five hours to get there. We were tired but the hotel was very warm and welcoming! OUr room on the second floor was very nice. The elevator to get there was needing some serious refurbishing. It was conveniently located across the parking lot from DEnnys and the outlet mall however Dennys was tahe only place open on Christmas night adn the wait was an hour before we were seated. It was an interesting Christmas adventure to say the least. more »

I arrived very late on Christmas Eve. The gentleman behind the counter what alert and helpful. I really did not do much besides sleep and shower.
Thank you for a clean room at a good price.

Stayed here for the night after a long 8 hour driving day. Right by the 101 freeway but no road noise. Recently upgraded. Searched online in hotel lobby for area motel discounts but none available. Clerk did give us senior rate of $65 but it seemed high for the area and type of hotel. We stayed at a 5 star at LAX for the same price (found on discount website). This Super 8 hotel had Free Wifi, and a minimal dry complimentary breakfast, scarcely any fresh fruit (waffle machine provided which we don't use) more »

Doable for a night.
Pros: Location and continental breakfast.
Cons: Finish the remodel and replace the carpets in the hallway.
Location: Denny's, Outlet Stores, fast food and gr
ocery store all within 1 block walking distance. Many restaurants across the hwy. Located RIGHT OFF Hwy 101.
We had come down the night before going to the Ren Faire to save travel time in the morning, so it suited our needs.
They are still under reconstruction, and that has disadvantages. This is an older hotel, trying to update what it can, therefore it shows the signs of age from a design and structure standpoint. The beds are hard, but we got extra pillows from downstairs clerk and went to sleep just fine. The a/c worked, the TV was standard, the towels were clean.
The continental breakfast was in two downstairs rooms because of remodel, but was actually nicer then I had expected. They had make your own Belgium waffles, yogurt, danish, instant oatmeal, apples & bananas, plain bread for toast, several cereals, OJ, Apple Juice, coffee and milk. Quite doable to start your morning, and you can take it to your room if you wish for others who are still getting ready.
Our stay was only overnight til after breakfast (8pm - 930am) so it gave us what we needed. There is a small pool that we didn't get there in time to use. Denny's is right next door, grocery stores and fast food across the street in walking distance, and the outlets are across the road and next door to the north - also in walking distance.
Its conveniently located right off Hwy 101 - about 15 mins from Hollister for any Casa de Fruita events.
I would rate this a 2 star as it's OK, but since this rating system has "OK" as 3 stars, I was kind of stuck. ;) I hope it's a 3 star after remodel.

Hope lighting is better when remodel is done. Would have loved to use the little pool but it was very cold and not inviting. The staff was very friendly! more »

Pleasant place to stay.
Cons: It will be much better once the remodel is finished.
Location: See above.
The lobby was in the process of remodeling which is the reason for the "4" ove
rall rating & the facilities condition. The only entrance was in the rear where parking close was difficult later in the evening. The staff was excellent. Easy walking distance to Denny's, the In & Out Burger and outlet malls. more »

Nice motel next to Gilroy Outlets.
Pros: The front desk associate was very pleasant when we checked in.
Cons: Employees not being on cell phones when guests are asking questions. The male
associate at front desk was on cell phone.
Location: Gilroy Outlets, Costco, Dennys
Shopping was fun and location is convenient. Front desk or lobby currently under construction.

The visit to Gilroy was for a significant charity fundraiser benefiting children with disabilities at the Elks Lodge. Elroy the Elk is the national Drug Awareness Program mascot, who entertains the participating youth. He and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip and the accommodations at the Super 8. more »
