I have been going to this location for a few years, and unfortunately, my Dentist left the group. My Hygienist, Natalie, is always exceptional! I visited the group on Wednesday, October 16, for my six-month cleaning, and Dr. Michael Wakily was assigned to do my checkup. When he entered the exam room, he did not introduce himself; however, trying to bypass that oversight on his part, I joked that he came highly recommended as my regular Dentist left the group. When this was East Islip Dental with Dr. Rosenfeld, it was wonderful. Once it was taken over by Smilyist it went downhill. It shouldn't take 4 months to get an appt for a cleaning. No one knows who we are anymore. There's no longer the personal touch that Dr R took so much pride in showing. After 20 plus years I will be looking fir a new dentist fir me and my family.

I have been with this dental office for many years and they had a merger with The Smilist company, and there are a few Smilist Dentals. The staff were not all friendly after the changes and you felt the change. Now, just made a year, I received emails within the past 2 weeks stating that I had a $40 balance, mind you a couple of the emails went to spam but when I realized, the date of what was owed it was a year ago and they stated that insurance did not cover all but the balance is $40 so they want the payment. Do not go there. They lie about the treatment you need. The swore I needed a new bridge and pay close to $2000.00 to fix. Turned out the problem was only to have a tooth grinded down. I recommended people. To them. They said the same thing to everyone. A root canal was needed and then a bridge or crown had to be done. All procedures was $2000.00 and up. Beware! I went to this Dental group as a new patient with a sensitive tooth. What was only an old, chipped filling needing replacement (average cost $50.00) I was told that it needed to be capped ($1,500.00). Furthermore, a second healthy viable tooth with no complaint was also recommended to be capped at an additional cost of $1,500.00. I was recommended over $3,100.00 of unnecessary dental work! East islip dental has changed from a professional dental establishment to a high pressure sales used car lot. I went in for a routine cleaning and was encourage to do an elective cosmetic procedure which cost several thousands of dollars for no medical reason, without any second consultation or time to evaluate my decision. I literally went from a cleaning to signing away a bill and I'm the chair for this procedure within an hour. After waiting over a month for an appt. And a call from the office confirming my appt. I arrived 15 minutes early to find out they have no record of my appt. I was then brought to a exam room, an assistant came in and was about to begin, At this point I asked if they participated in my insurance plan, Which I did initially, before I made my appt. If you're looking for a dentist DO NOT go to East Islip Dental! They are money scammers!! Went there two weeks ago and paid IN FULL for two root canals. Almost $1000 WITH insurance!!! Went today to get my permanent crowns on and they charged me for $320. I was so confused on how I owed money but was in a rush to get back to work.
