Get directionsA few things at Woodmark initially stood out to me as being very attractive & inviting. However, now that my parents have lived at Woodmark for 6 weeks, this property can best be described as putting lipstick on a pig. You can make it look good, but in the end, it's still a pig. ( aka essentially basic window dressing.) After 6 weeks, my parents are making plans to move out of Woodmark. The continual staff turnover that has run the range from the transportation / van driver to care providers to housekeeping to dining room se... read more
Our experience was only good on move-in day. We were grated and we were provided some help to get moved in. And things went downhill from there. Our mom was not provided dinner or medication the first night she was there. They forgot she had moved in and the techs were not informed (this was a wheelchair resident who was being charged fully for all assisted services, including escort to meals and medication dispensing. Her call button did not work well during her stay, as she was left too often for hours without bathroom and... read more
My mother lived at The Woodmark for 7 months and nothing was ever right. From the start, I had to fight for basic services that were supposed to be included with her rent of $[removed]a month. No housecleaning, no showers, no one answered the button for help when it was pressed. Excuses were made such as "we are short staffed, we have other residents" Then the next time, we were told " we are fully staffed, there are no problems with services here" I lived 5 minutes away which was lucky as I was able to get there quick when ... read more

Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us. We think you will be glad to know that we have addressed your concerns and made changes throughout the community. We have ensured room cleanings are scheduled, hired new staff across our different care levels, and we have a new Resident Services Director. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.
The office administrators are a poor group of people to run a community like this one. It has real potential but the people who run this community have tarnished the potential is currently has. The business office manager, [name removed] is extremely rude to her staff, residents and us as the families of the residents. I have brought up concerns about my moms residency and it seemed like an inconvenience for her, i had to speak to the clinical staff to feel more supported in this transition in my moms care. Her higher ups se... read more
Business response:
We know how stressful it is to have the responsibility of your mother’s care and what you need from us is a sympathetic ear and a good partnership. We have made some staff changes and are striving to live up to the potential that you mention in your review. As some time has passed since you wrote this review, we wanted to check in and make sure that you are doing well. Please feel free to stop into the office and discuss any concerns that you may have.
They seem to have a lot of turnover with the staff. Makes it hard to feel comfortable with the level of care. Recently their management team has been transitory as well and that has left a lot of residents feeling uneasy about their futures there. Consistency would be the number one thing to improve the meals. You can order the same thing two days in a row and it's completely different each day. The standard everyday options are also somewhat limited.
Business response:
We appreciate thoughtful feedback, and we agree that consistency is key. We have had a great team in place that has made improvements towards greater consistency and that includes our dining with better menu options.
If I were a private pay person, I would not recommend this facility, but for someone on Medicaid, I would. The food is mediocre at best, and the housekeeping is almost nonexistent. But the staff seems to want to help, they just are understaffed. Especially on the housekeeping side. It is a pretty facility, but they certainly could do better in terms of housekeeping and providing transportation and activities.
The memory care center looked more inviting than the others that we looked at that looked like hospital floors. My in-laws got a bigger room for the money as well.
Business response:
Thank you for your positive comments about our community. Usually, people leave a higher rating with comments such as yours. Did you forget to add something else or would you consider raising the rating to a higher number?
It was a closer location. They would not help with financial planning. It seemed like a nice community, and there was the right amount of interaction, between the staff and residents.
Business response:

My family had a horrible experience at The Woodmark. My loved ones received pretty much zero health care, so my family had to be there to do it, except when we were kicked out at night. They wouldn't answer the call buttons, and our loved one was falling multiple times. Yet they still tried to charge me for extra care. We weren't even there at all the last month when my loved one was in the hospital, but they're still charging me for full care and residency for that month. Starting day one, I didn't even leave my parents the... read more
