It may be too soon but I would not recommend this hospice group. I asked for fentanyl patches that never came. The nurse was nice but did not spend enough time with the patient. I called late on a Sunday and was told my the on call nurse she would call back, she never did. They tell you not to call 911 but after a fall, I was told to call 911 for a lift assist. This is the hospice company that we picked for my dad prior to his discharge from Baylor Hear Hospital in Denton. We called for an overnight nurse to come tend to our dad due to some symptoms that were affecting his normal baseline. Paschal deemed us too far for him to come. He passed us on to a colleague that never reached out to us. Jane (Patient Care Manager), blamed not getting back to us as her attending a doctors appointment. At first every thing was good. As time progressd, the team got sloppy. Then un reliable. And when it came down to the last few days of my mother's life there was almost no support.

My mom was on hospice for less than a week before she died. We got a lot of attention from people who weren’t helpful, like the chaplain, and not much support from the people whose help we really needed, like the CNA and the RN.

The worst way to find out about problems with Hospice is after the fact. That was our unfortunate case with Total Hospice & Palliative Care. First you have to tell them what to do and when, they will not be proactive on your account. They did not get our mother the care kit until we ordered them to. Then after she died we had to wait 11 days to get her death certified. The state of Texas gives 10 day to certify the death. Again we had to order them to do it. Not a good company for your loved ones.
