This is my first time here. I had an emergency appt at valley cottage and they didn’t seem to really care. They took people with appts later than mine and then an ‘emergency’ was coming in so I had to wait. Understandable but after 20 mins still no emergency! And still no dr. They left me and my cat in the waiting room with giant dogs...just not a good feel. Here, we have our own room, snacks, coffee, and my cat feels soooo much more comfortable! I’m making this my permanent Vet!

Business response:

We're sorry to hear your last experience with us wasn't quite what you were expecting, Elizabeth. Please know that it is never our intent to make patients feel the way you're describing. As a pet hospital we have a lot of emergencies pop up that we simply can't ignore. We'd like to apologize about your wait and thank you for your patience during your visit. Let us know if we can help with anything in the future. -Dr. Patricia C., Owner

Way too expensive. No internal payment plans. Your furry friend will die.

So my wife and I found this dog yesterday in the middle of the street..this dog could hardly walk it was dragging its back feet so we stopped and I picked up the dog and I could feel the rib cage. When I looked into the dogs eyes both eyes had white goo all over it the dog couldn't even see..when I looked through the matted hair the dog had wounds all over the skin..the dogs paws were raw and had red rash under its belly..wasn't paying attention if it was a male or female so I don't know the sex of the dog..anyway..I rushed ... read more

Business response:

Karen, I want to first assure you we'd never put an animal in harms way. Our life's mission is to care for these animals, so we'd never release an animal if we felt they wouldn't be properly cared for. While we understand where your concern is coming from, the dog was triaged immediately and then the owner reached out to us looking for their pet and did take the pet home. We have also been in contact with the dog warden regarding this pet. -Dr. Patricia C., Owner

Bedside manner is non existent. Just got a dog two weeks ago who was having stomach issues. Saw two Dr.'s in that time. Both had different solutions to my dog's problem. 3 visits and over $600 later I feel like they couldn't care less about my dog. I had to call every time to get an update on my dogs condition even though I was told I would be called by both the Dr. and receptionist. When I picked my dog up today they basically handed him to me and said bye. I got him home and he had bloody discharge. I called back to say I... read more

Business response:

I'm sorry you felt left out of the loop, Leigh. We're always very focused on treating our patients, and sometimes we may come off as brusque to their owners as a result. I assure you, we care very much about the animals we treat, and that includes your dog. As far as the discharge, we prefer to take a wait-and-see approach in many cases like these for two reasons: First, we know the problem will likely stop soon and second, we want to save you the cost of a visit for something that will resolve on its own. We always say to c... read more

Unfortunately even a leading doctors of VCAH are quite unprofessional... I would not trust them my pets with even a simple diarrhea... They perform a lot of expensive unneeded tests and give you wrong diagnosis with wrong medications... This could be the useless at best for your beloved pet...
