The director is very uncooperative. The services that are supposed to be delivered are very inconsistent. Overall, if I had an option, I would be moving my loved one. They put on a front at the initial visit including the food that was served, their friendliness, and openness towards both the residents and their family members. The director acted as if she would be approachable with any concerns but when we did approach her she was defensive and rude to us.

I strongly encourage you to look elsewhere if your parent is in need of any assistance. My mom was kicked out of Mapleshade while on hospice after living there for three years, at the same time we realized through hospice, not mapleashade, that she had a stage 4 bedsore on her sacrum(please google stage 4 bedsore). Hospice told us we needed to urgently move her, and that same day we were told she had to leave Mapleshade. We moved her to a residential care home urgently and my mother passed away three weeks later. The constan... read more

My mother in law developed a stage 4 bed sore here. Do not put your loved one in this home!

There is not nearly the level of patient interaction (promoting involvement in activities) that we were lead to believe there would be. My family member goes days, even weeks without leaving their room.

I recently had a conversation with the terrible manager of this place. I was told my Mom’s apartment floors will not be mopped and the bathroom will not be cleaned. I was rudely told they only do light dusting by [name removed]. We pay thousands for my Mom to live here. If she could clean her own bathroom and mop her own floors she wouldn’t need assisted living. We are looking for a new place ASAP with nicer management and better housekeeping. I’m disgusted.

I really liked this place and they used to take great care of my parents, Unfortunately, the management has really changed. Many staff have quit. The weekends are abyssmal. They hire temporary care staff. One temp care staff person had no idea how to transfer my parent from bed to wheelchair. My parent needs prompting and thank god I was in town because no food was brought to my parents room or anyone checked on them for god knows how long. Most residents live in fear of complaining or they will be asked to leave as several ... read more

The Village at Mapleshade should not be one ofyour considered places for your loved one. The advertise things they cannot provide and did to have a Medical Director at any time during our loved ones stay. The management would not take ownership of mistakes, medication mismanagement, and other issues such as not calling family when loved one fell and went to hospital. They constantly place blame on others and do not offer the things promised in their ads. Be wary of reviews - any company can post reviews on their on behalf. ... read more
