I was at my doctor’s office the other day and I told my doctor I had my first vaccine and I get the second one on the 31st. I told her that everything was taken care of right here at Wesley Ridge. She was amazed. I’ve been in Ohio for 7 years, although, I still get the New York Times and you see people 70, 80, 90s waiting in line to get the vaccine. It was done so well here at Wesley Ridge! They called us down and we got it, it was great. Mostly everything at Wesley Ridge is done so well. We can go down to the receptionist desk and give our grocery orders to Christine and the groceries are delivered the next day…I mean, how much better can it get? When I moved in, there was a woman on the same floor as me and she came down and left me a lovely note welcoming me to Wesley Ridge and saying how happy I was going to be. From there, everything just fell into place. You stay here a few days, a few weeks, and all the sudden you’re really busy! Someone told me to come and see chair volleyball and I watched for about two weeks and then they asked me to play. Now it’s one of my favorite things. Here you make friends. I like everything about Wesley Ridge. When you live on your own you don’t have the activities; you don’t have the interaction with people. Someone told me I should volunteer at the Wesley Ridge ice cream parlor and I said okay and now I’ve been doing it for 5 years. You get so sucked into things that you end up loving. I am really very happy here. It’s the best of the world you can have right now. I do things here I never did before, and I think, you know, what a nice life this is. I am more active now than I was when I was living in New York. When you have a problem, you just go down and tell them and they take care of it. Things are taken care of here. You have questions, you have problems, you think, “I don’t know what to do” and it’s taken care of. That is really important at my age. This is the life for me.
