I arrived on the night of 7/27/24. My dog was very ill and could not stand up. she was lethargic. I was quickly taken to an exam room and was told they were busy but someone would come in soon. After 40 minutes of listening to the staff laugh and sound like they were having a party I walked to the front desk and asked if anyone was going to come check my dog out. We've been taking our pets to Westerville Veterinary for many years. We've also always purchased the platinum healthcare from them - for both dogs it's about $170 per month. Went to get flee, tick & heartworm meds today and they wanted to draw blood on the 9 month old pup, I also asked for a nail trim. They brought her back a little later and said she was too jumpy and they couldn't do the blood draw or nails....jumpy? No kidding, she's a puppy. For a vet who is suppose to care about animals, that is not our experience with Westerville Veterinary Clinic. We have a 15 year old cat who has been having some issues with his back legs, probably arthritis. We took him in to see what the vet had to say. They wanted to do blood tests and send us to a neurologist. We asked for the cost of those and it was well into the thousands . . . for our 15 year old cat. I've held off writing about what happened with Sasha until I am less emotional and clear. It's eight days now..... so I've had time to look at her death in a clearer way. It was horrible. Terrible. And I blame Westerville Veterinary practice for making a procedure I've been through too many time to count. We're in our 70's and we've always had cats and dogs. Always. I went here in late 2021, with the pandemic setup of dropping your pet off and doing it over the phone. I want to give them some leeway because I know the pandemic is hard. But they were late to the appointment by 20 minutes, and then they delivered a $225 bill, but the vet couldn't talk to me about any of it because he was busy. Incredibly rude front office staff (especially the manager Skylar). Do not waste your time going to this vet. They do not have time to care for established clients when they are sick and need help. I would highly suggest looking for alternative options. I called MyVet and was seen within 2 hours at their regular charge. We are all overworked (excuse I was given) and as a healthcare worker who is directly caring for patients with COVID in the ICU I could not understand this more. This was a very bad experience for me and my puppy. I brought a brand new 8 week old puppy for its first visit and to get started on some vaccines. Not once did the vet or tech give my dog a treat or try to make it feel comfortable. Instead, they manipulated and prodded my dog and called her "stubborn" when she wiggled just a little for the thermometer.
