It’s almost perfect! I really like this pump and it works very well, for the most part. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because it does tend to get stuck on my stairs and will sometimes sit in the same spot for hours. Otherwise, the pump is a beast and at a really great price.
For me it gets no better......... I had to copy Scott's review headline. I totally agree with him. It has been a game changer for me. When we built our pool they wanted $6500 extra for a dedicated Polaris pool cleaner.(runs on a separate pump). I declined at the time and had regrets. Since this was a larger pool than what they normally build, they did not install enough pool jets. I have what my dad refers to as dead spots. Too soon to tell Assembly instructions very confusing and not clear. No user manual with purchase.I have not used in the pool yet, so cannot comment on cleaning performance.
Good sweeper however hoses split after 8 months Been using now for 8 months and it does a good job of picking up debris. Even though its track is random, it does end up covering the whole pool.A negative is the quality of the hoses. Two hose sections near the cleaning head have split I did have two hoses left over to replace them, but it looks like in 8 months or so, I will have to buy some replacements.
Barry-Cuda III This is the third barracuda I have had in 23 years. Each model is basically the same, but with minor improvements and functionality and ease of use.
Good Job But One Shortcoming I've used this brand of pool cleaner for years, but the one shortcoming it has is it will occasionally become trapped in an area of the pool such as a corner that contains a sharp bend or at the bottom of entry steps where they intersect with the pool wall. Other than that, the Barracuda does a good job of cleaning the pool.
Better than most.. I found this better than the competition's product but not perfect. It cleans all over but doesn't always pick up the leaves on the bottom. While the price is better than say, the Kreepy Krauley, it's a little high for this type of cleaner. And there seems to be some price fixing as sellers almost all charge the same $324 on all sites? It never goes on sale?
Ease of use I’m extremely happy with my Zodiac G3 pool vacuum. You really need to go online and download the manual. The quick setup guide for myself is vague. I had one minor problem with the vacuum head getting stuck in on of my pools bottom step corner. I adjusted 1 of the pool filter returns. This solved the problem. The online manual has a decent troubleshooting guide. Make sure you adjust how much suction is being applied so the pressure valve is at 3 and enough hose. All returns are pointed downward.
