Worked great at first Worked great at first, now after 3 months of light use it's highly unreliable. I'm stuck with this garbage, I'm outside my window to return. Every other scan job the documents either jam or I receive an error "Failed to connect to device...." It's not ideal having to restart this scanner frequently or clearing out a jam to get it to scan.
Fails to Connect I like the small compact style and it worked great the first day. Since, I constantly receive errors that it won't connect. When I trouble shoot with Brother, the answer is always to uninstall and reinstall. It works great for the rest of THAT day. The next day, I'm back to square one. I would not recommend.
Two Stars Double feeds paper A LOT :-(
Keep Looking I would not buy this again. The setup process was difficult. Had to reload the driver twice. Then spent 2 hours on the phone with Brother support and it still doesn't fully function. For $200, there must be a better option for a basic scanning system. Boo to Brother.
Ugh, you get what you pay for :( The hinge tab broke in the first 2 weeks, now I have to use tape or something to to keep it from detaching. Also, the pages don't feed straight, even before the feed tray hinge broke. Save your money, and invest in a Fujitsu or Epson.

I just started using it and now I can't send it back! DON NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT
Bad Software does not do what it promises! This scanner has been a nightmare to set up. The software is the culprit, I think. Pull down menus that won't populate. The scan to network function (which is what I bought it for) will not, after 3 days of trying with a half day of my IT guy's time too, work from the push button on the scanner, you have to use a PC to function as a push button.
Too many paper jams and crooked scans I really wanted to like this little scanner. It's solid and well made like every Brother peripheral I've owned. The packaging and documentation were excellent, and it installed properly on my Windows 10 laptop. Because of it's small footprint I wanted to use this in a small closet office in a condo, and because I've had great success with its bigger brother, the ADS2000, in an office in our home, I thought this little sheet feed duplex color scanner would be perfect. The paper is jammed all the time. Brother ADS1000W Compact Color Desktop Scanner with Duplex and Wireless Networking, Because the feeding tray is not long enough to support the paper, the paper moves when feeding the scanner and for that reason, the paper is jammed all the time. It hurts the paper.
