I thought this small scanner would work perfect for me I thought this small scanner would work perfect for me; BUT NOT!!! There are too many flaws. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to scan any document straight. The small clasp on the side that are supposed to hold the item straight while scanning do not work. The missing tray to catch the documents is also an issue for me. There is no tab to straighten the item after you scan it. I wish i had not waited so long to write is review. I've had this scanner since last year and was happy on how fast it scans the document I've had this scanner since last year and was happy on how fast it scans the document. The more I use it now the more the paper gets jammed up and rips my documents. This is happening very often especially with more than one page. There is nothing to guide the documents in neatly. I'm in the market for a new one as I can't stand trying to correct the issue every single time.
One Star piece of junk. will not scan multiple pieces of paper. do NOT buy. Get a ScanSnap !!!
Very Poor OCR Scanner This is a very poor OCR scanner. I purchased it to read handwritten numbers and tested it for over 6 hours using variations in quality, size, etc. It reads the typed text just fine (e.g. Name: or Address:) but forget reading the hand written text. Less that 5% came through. Granted it is not the scanner as much as the Nuance software that comes with it. The is an upgrade from Nuance that they claim is "better" or about $100. ... bought this scanner because it had some of the best reviews however I bought this scanner because it had some of the best reviews however, much to my disappointment I received a dud! My scanner immediately began to jam with every single item I attempted to scan (whether it was a receipt or a full page sized document). I tried several troubleshooting ideas from the website but had no success resolving the issue. So I was forced to return the item for a refund. Sadly disappointed.
Jam and allignment issues. It can scan fast, but it's inconsistent. The settings are a pain to deal with, it hardly ever scans straight, the card/receipt sleeve jammed until I cut it to be just 6" long. If I'm not scanning multiple documents I'd rather use my 15 year old Microtek3600. Sadly, this thing has been a pain 50% of the time I have used it.
DONT. Would you like a piece of equipment that will cause you to lose your mind? Over the years I have used a plethora of scanners and devices, in the field and on desktop. Day one, this scanner performed poorly. I should have returned it immediately, but, I thought maybe I just had to figure out its quirks. Its been about a year, and I am sitting here at my desk watching this thing constantly feed through more than one page at a time, jam, and absolutely shred apart important documents. Good product just didn't want to work with my PC My hopes were to set up this scanner quickly but when it would not work with my PC no matter how many times the software was downloaded and installed. Got Brother's technical support two days for help and they could get it to work. Don't want to say anything bad about the product things happen and this may be a wonderful scanner for someone else just not for me and if the Brother's technical staff can't make it work will have to find something more compatible. Thanks.
Worked great for a few months Worked great for a few months. Now it believes that it's jammed every time I scan something. The document scans just fine, but the only way to clear the error is to pull the power cord out, wait a few seconds then plug it back in. Every. Time. Trash.
