Very professional, knowledgeable and personable. He was very thorough in his pre-op evaluation for surgery making sure no other medical conditions would impact a good outcome for his patient. Great surgeon, my surgery went extremely well even with extensive damage to the hip. Had surgery at HSS in Stamford hospital and the whole team was extraordinary which is a testament to Dr. McLawhorn's preparation for his cases. Highly recommend him as your surgeon.
Absolutely the highest recommendation
Dr. Mclawhorn is very pleasant and knows his job. Most of as he does his job well. I am completely satisfied.
Smart, caring, professional who speaks directly to you. Dr McLawhorn answered all my pre-op questions, operated with no complications, was 100% available during the healing process to answer any questions or alleviate any concerns. I am 100% and have recommended him to my family and friends. His care is exceptional, his skill impeccable and his low keypersonality is reassuring.
He's terrific, everything you would want in a doctor -- knowledgeable, patient, skillful, and caring. I also found him to be extremely accessible. This is someone who became a doctor for all the right reasons. My recovery from hip surgery has exceeded my expectations, and I'll be forever indebted to the doctor who referred me to Dr. McLawhorn.
Dr. Mclawhorn replaced one of my knees. He did an excellent job. I had my other knee replaced by another physician but had less pain and recovery time with the knee Dr. Mclawhorn did. He spends time with his patients at appointments, hence he is always behind. But in my mind that is a good sign. I woul recommend him as a surgeon.
Unfortunately my hip replacement wasn’t very successful. My results have been confirmed by another orthopedic surgeon..my implant has been twisted or turned to far to the inside and I have a crooked leg whereby my knee turns to the side, my hip juts out and i have permanent Piriformis spasms. This has altered my life completely as i was very athletic and have had to alter the way I work out….
Under no circumstances would I recommend Stamford Hospital or this crew. There were several screw ups leading up to the surgery that never took place. This was after 2 months of waiting for an appointment and a surgery date. Started off ok based on a relatives recommendation and ended up a disaster. One would think doctors could conference call, but apparently not.
Business response:
I take all feedback seriously. My patients are given my personal contact to limit barriers to communication. HIPAA prohibits responding to your concerns directly. In general, no one is happy when a surgery that will benefit a patient can't happen in a timely fashion. When surgeries are postponed it is for patient safety, and we do our best to optimize conditions and reschedule surgery promptly. If you have questions or concerns about your specific experience, please call 212-606-1065.
I cannot even begin to tell if this experience, from consultation through post op visits. Both knee replacement (for me), were pain free! I hated seeing how bent my legs were, but more so how limited I was mobility wise. Now I’m pain free and taking those long walks I missed doing!
