I underwent hip replacement surgery on October 19, 2018. It is now three months after my surgery and I am happy to report that I can walk long distances. I don't have pain and I don't limp. Dr. Alexander McLawhorn is a highly professional, well-mannered, kind and caring surgeon. Most importantly, as I was wheeled into the operating room on the day of my surgery, I knew that I was in good hands. Dr. Alexander McLawhorn gave me back my active, happy life.
I can’t describe how life changing my care from Dr. McLawhorn has been. I am a professional squash coach, was very active for almost 30 years, but the last 3-4 years have been a miserable struggle. After a double knee replacement by Dr. McLawhorn and the care from HSS, I’m “back in the game!” Six months after surgery I’m back playing and feel great. Truly life changing!
Dr. McLawhorn is an excellent surgeon. I am 8 weeks post THR surgery and I have been feeling great ever since! He is very thorough, and caring in his approach and I am very grateful that he was recommended to me by my general physician.
Got my hip done a year ago. The guy was great and I’m back to heavy workouts with no effect. Pain gone. He is very professional but has an incredible bedside manner that more doctors should aspire to. Keep up the good work.
I have had an amazingly positive experience having my left hip replaced by Dr. McLawhorn. I had never had any major surgery in my 68 years so having my hip replaced was a difficult decision for me to make. The fact that I had great difficulty walking caused me great anxiety not only physically but mentally as well. It felt like I began aging quickly. I knew of HSS’s excellent rep and through Dr Scott I found Dr McLawhorn. Six weeks after surgery I am a very happy person. Thank you Dr. M!
I had a total right knee replacement on August 17, 2018. The entire staff at HSS was professional and promptly responsive. Dr. McLawhorn explained the procedure and provided me with excellent care. My recovery was gently guided by his team. I was thrilled with my experience. I highly recommend Dr. McLawhorn.
He is absolutely a super doc.! My hip replacement was completely painless ! I will definitely go to him for my other hip replacement next year.
