I give two stars because the price was good and the planning was good. Everything after that has been a nightmare. The crew that came to install barely spoke any English which made explaining door and window layout hard at best. Metal panels were miscut and still installed, the man door doesnt close, water leaks under the walls and from the roof. A pretty terrible experience with American Steel. They failed to build the building to the specifications that THEY provided so it failed welding inspection. They said they would fix it, a month later they decided to remove the entire building and replace it. They failed to meet delivery times on multiple occasions, each office told me different stories and none of them were truthful. Before delivery, they failed to correctly provide engineered drawings on multiple occasions, each failed attempt costs WEEKS in production. In... read more
Be careful when working with this company they will rip you off scam you and take your money just don't do business with them
This company put me through the wringer. About a week after installation it rained and the garage leaked. It was installed in January. I just got it fixed this month of April. It hasnt rained yet so not sure if it is repaired. Because it took so long to get any response from the company I had to call my bank and dispute the charges. It wasnt until after that they contacted me and said that they were sending someone out to repair it as a courtesy to me . Since they came to repair it I havent had any rain. Absolutely no communication at all initiated by them or between them and the sales partner. I had to call all the time, apparently I became a nuisance, so they blew me off. Buyer beware, the whole company takes a 2 1/2 week vacation during Christmas and New Years. No communication about that. The permit paperwork was mishandled twice at which point I cancelled my order. They really didnt seem to care either. No apologies, or anything to keep a paying customer happy. I would NOT recommend this company.
Gave down payment of $ ***** in March 2023 they promised to build in 3 weeksconstant lies from their salesman every week until November when I wanted to cancel they told me that I would loose my down payment if I did. Finally built it in NOVEMBER ..salesman promised a 10% discount and extra things (his words) for being late more lies.. carport not built as we agreed ????. Need another building built on my property but never again with this irresponsible company
Overall, they did a decent job communicating, and working with me on my carport design, which went well, and the installers and finished product turned out great, which was fortunate, because after installation , the company basically vanished and totally failed to return my emails or voice messages afterwords, in relation to a few questions, and upgrade to the carport, as I decided to add some additional side panels, and apparently it wasnt worth their time, so they basically ghosted me , which is why my review is only 2 st... read more
Total lack of communication. Over 12 weeks without a schedule....then I canceled the order which evidently got their attention because they found a slot a couple days later. I would recommend going elsewhere. The final product was good but the process was horrible.
Very bad experience from the start to end. I would not recommend this company
