My salesperson was exemplary. He went above and beyond to help me. I would not recommend this company. The crew that came out was very amateurish at best. The walls were not square, they did not,initially, put an overhang on the building. I paid for two 3ftx10ft skylights and two 3x3 were installed. The crew said to call the company. Later on the same day (7PM) the crew came back, ripped off the front of the building and pushed it back six feet using now damaged sheet metal and leaving a 2gap between the roof and wall. Purchased a 30x40 garage with two 9x10 automating roll up doors costing around 25K dollars. Installation was managed by a sub-contract team from ********** which come to my residence the first week of July to erect the building but did not have all the parts to complete the building. I ordered an inner wall at an additional cost of 2K, the team installed that but did not put up the back wall of the building. As of 10/1/24 the company has communicated with me via email and phone inquiring on my willingness to have them deliver the door motors and I find a local installer to put them in, then invoice American Steel. This all took place during the previous week. I requested detail on cost for motors and labor as they indicate they would pay for install so expect to receive back refund for labor. Was told my building be built in early June. Didn't hear anything for a couple weeks so after a week of calling finally got a date it be built June 22. Once the builders came they couldn't do anything except drop off the material which sat around for weeks because of missing material. After a week of waiting then a week of calling. (No one could give an answer of when the missing material would be in because it's coming from *****. Which doesn't explain why no one could give at least an estimate to when it would be arriving.... read more
I purchased a carport from American Steel 6 years ago and the metal roofing has faded drastically. None of the fading is the same so my roof is now multi colored as each panel is a different shade. When I contacted the company, which took me many emails and voicemails to get a response, they said the roof did not come with a color warranty and they refused to do anything about it unless I could prove to them I had a warranty. Terrible customer service, poor scheduling system, had a issue with city regarding compliance around steel building that American Steel car ports built. building was taken down and returned to American Steel car ports and still no refund 6 months later.
They did not send all the product to put our RV cover up so they modified it on site (cut off some of the main structural pieces) and used cheap L brackets to hold 2 of the legs/uprights on. It moves in stronger winds and the company has no interest in talking to me much less fixing the problem!! I have gone through multiple ways to get a hold of someone, text, messenger and email and they have done nothing!DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY
Not off to a good start. Depending on how install goes I may adjust my rating good or bad afterwards. So far though American Steel does not seem to be well organized. I received a text on May 13th asking if I was ready. I instantly replied yes. Well Friday May 24th I receive a call asking if I was ready because I was never put on the ready to install list. The purchase process was great. However during installation they are very unhelpful showed up late left screws everywhere. They did not have the anchors checked and they wouldnt offer any qualifications of the installers. The office just stopped answering. I have still not been able to get my permit closed. I had to hire another contractor that was qualified to take out the anchors and reinstall them at a cost of a few thousand dollars Lots of sharp edges left and the door wont shut right. Horrible service got wrong roof type installed on building I payed for was told after informing them they put on wrong was to get vertical roof but gave horizontal roof installed they couldnt fix it but wont hurt anything but not what I asked and payed for wont be buying from them again
