Had a carport installed in 2024-extremely disappointed. Had a carport installed in 2025-much better. In 2024-poor communication from sales associate on engineering timeline, construction and scheduling. Sales associate would not return phone calls or emails - until a Manager was ccd on calls and emails. Had a difficult time doing basic math on contract. In 2025-much better communication from all. In 2024 was told engineering would be done in 2-3 weeks-came back in 6 with errors and had to be sent back to an out sourced group... read more
I was lied to by ****** of **** buildings when I bought the barn. I was lied to by the city when I got the permit stamped. ****** said I didnt need a permit for the building. I got a permit anyways. ***** approved the building height and no concrete needed. The city made me take the barn down because of height and no footer and requires a variance. Variance didnt pass so I lost $22k. Very upset with company and city!!!! Lies, lies, lies! Stole my money!
My building is not square with my concrete pad, I have panels they failed to s**** down, panels that they missed the stud and now leaks water, self tapping screws all over my driveway and a hole in 1 of my car tires. They cut the leg off my existing car port to turn their truck around and just placed it back in it's spot without securing it. American steel took my deposit and plan fee but was unable to complete the plans let alone build the building. I've requested to cancel my order to receive no response. The project was not a project they typically do, and they should have never contracted with me to do the project. Now I'm seeking my plan fee and deposit to be refunded. No response has been received, and they owe me over $12,000. There is additional cost mounting due to their negligence which will also need to be recouped. I had bought two buildings and after last winter my carport collapsed and the other steel building suffered extreme damage. Attempted to contact this company by phone and email. No response.
My experience went bad quickly. The first ********** were scheduled to come on Friday morning but they no called no showed. I called the main office and was told they should be there to start Friday afternoon. No one showed. Was told they would be there Saturday but same thing happened. They finally showed up on Sunday. They finished on Monday when I was at work. When I got home, I inspected the building, and found they had used old ***** screws and a piece of the siding had a huge ***** in the side. Watch out for this company. If everything is smooth and easy they may be fine. But if they make any mistakes, no matter how obviously their fault, they will not make it right without legal action. When our roll up door failed we were told sorry, it was wind damage. But upon further inspection it because clear to us all (supported and proved through pictures) that the installers missed the crucial two screws at the bottom of the track. It was a faulty installation. They wouldnt even speak to us until we filed against them.
Got a pole barn from them for my truck today I went out won't go up or down its 1 years old my truck is stuck. in there couldn't go to work get truck.out got a hold of them 1 year warranty is done can't do nothing ,,,,will never recommend this company to any one *****there are people asking us about the company who did both of are pole barns will not recommend them to no one ... ..
We have been waiting and calling to get a permit completed since June *******. We make several calls per month and no one knows whats going on. Now phone numbers have been disconnected. Unable to contact the owner or anyone in upper management. The City said a permit was requested over 80 days ago and then the email sent was never responded to by American Steel. ****** tells he is going to find out what is going on and never calls back. Now his number is disconnected. I cant understand why we are being ignored.
