Overrated. For the price you pay it should be better and much more interesting. I think service at all of the Bartolotta's restaurants has slid a bit.

I was prepared to spend a lot of money but for that money I wanted to be WOWED by the food. The food was good but I can get good food anywhere. I wanted great food and didn't get it. Crab cake was good but not great; perhaps too over mixed as it was dense. Steak was good but some grissle. Dessert was fairly boring. Chocolate Lava Cake with ice cream & a mint leaf? I can get that anywhere. Service was beyond outstanding. Wine list is awesome. Ambiance was nice but kind of tight. They put a lot of tables in, and close together... read more

Just ok. It's beautifully decorated, the service is excellent, but the food was inconsistent. Some of it was awesome (spare ribs & lobster bisque), but the Maine lobster entree tasted "fishy" and was over-cooked. The steak was ok. I expect more from the Bartolotta's and have had great food at Lake Park Bistro & Mr. B's. In this experience there was no "passing the fork" or "you've got to taste this". Perhaps it was just who was cooking around 7pm.

The food and service on a "holiday" (Valentine's Day weekend) was not on par with the normal Bacchus experience. The service was slow, we had to wait 15 minutes just to get a napkin that usually is given immediatly upon seating, the pared down menu was not as good as the normal menu, and our server was absent for a long period of time. The extra tables added in one of the rooms made for a less enjoyable experience as well. We will not go to Bacchus for a "holiday" again and hope these problems are only limted to the "holiday... read more

The Bacchus sets the bar of excellence for fine dining in Milwaukee. A beautiful restaurant with a commendable staff. The best part is of course the food; meticulously prepared and presented. Not one bite went un-savored. This is a restaurant I would unabashedly recommend to anyone.
