Started with the caramelised onion and pork croquette. We enjoyed both though my wife would have preferred the onion slightly more cooked but that’s just a preference. I had the pork tomahawk which was very good. I can only recall having a nicer bit of pork on one occasion but that’s was a different specialised cut. The steak was cooked to perfection and the red wine jus was good. Chips were particularly good. We are from Dublin, 1st time in Edinburgh and wanted a taste of local food. Sean and William waited on us, and were very informative yet not intrusive. The food was so good, we had steak pie with cabbage and a bone marrow gravy, followed by tea cake and a whiskey. My words don't describe the food or ambiance. I will recommend to everyone traveling to Edinburgh. Thanks also to Iona and Matthew for a great evening

a very relaxing lunch with friends who were in B&G for the first time they enjoyed a light lunch & loved the decor. & I am sure they will return As normal Staff were very welcoming & nice to see the Interesting new menu I am never disappointed when visiting this lovely restaurant

This was a last minute reservation and ended up being one of our favorite meals in the UK. Cute atmosphere, great service and food! Get the whipped feta and tomato app!

We’ve been here a few times and the food has always been good but our fish & chips was below standards this time. Service was excellent as ever and the general surroundings are very nice. Will put it down to a one-off and probably go back again.

Great food - upscale pub menu with some lighter dishes as well - served in a whimsically decorated setting. Good AC as well, which was fantastic as we visited on a rare warm day.
