Our servers were very polite and friendly however we did feel a bit rushed ( having to ask for items not to be removed before we’d finished; watching my tea bag be whisked away without being asked first). While I appreciate that the tables are “time limited” it was irksome and seemed rude. Bringing two small teapots of of hot water when we ordered tea for 3 seemed a little mean and could be interpreted by some as fulfilling a certain Edinburgh stereotype ( and not one we’d wish to be caricatured by). Who wouldn’t love a Wind In The Willows first impression?! And service, food and bev that rise above expectations (look, it’s a tourist city so menus tend to be variations on the local theme). But I give credit for sheer hustle of personal service, and B&C is all about excellent service standards.

Lovely afternoon enjoying tasty cocktails, we were well looked after by great staff. (Didn’t have food but had to choose star rating, no option for N/A)

I was there with 6 friends. Meal was really great, they have nice wine choices, staff were great and the decor etc was really nice

Always great service and food. However, the rest of party was very late due to being foreigners and not being familiar with walking distances so yes, it was our fault, but we really felt there was a real push to get us out of the door. I completely understand the Christmas rush but I don’t think you have remind people every 5 minutes that their time is almost up. So good experience but maybe be a bit gentler with foreign guests next time? Other than that, it’s a great place.

Lovely dinner for two with exceptional food and a nice atmosphere. Service was attentive as well. William was an excellent server and took good care of us.

Could not fault Badger and co. Very knowledgeable staff ( Iona) delicious food , the homemade breads are warm and fluffy. Their pies are delicious, generous portions, everything we ordered - flawlessly delicious we could not fault anything. Iona is a great asset to the staff and was very knowledgeable with drink pairings and whisky . Will definitely return

Service staff was excellent. All members in our party were extremely happy with pace of service and friendliness of wait staff. Restaurant has a great vibe and is beautifully decorated. The food quality was excellent. My only complaint would be the portions were a bit on the small side for the amount charged. We were there for the Sunday roast.
