I have a relative that stays at Barathaven and each time I've visited, I've seen staff provide nothing less wonderful care to all the residents there. The building is always well kept and free of odors. The staff are all attentive and friendly and show their commitment to their profession in how they show their appreciation to the ones they care for. I highly recommend Barathaven for their loved one struggling with this awful disease.
We knew right away when we walked in for our tour that this was not going to be the right fit for my loved one. A lot of the residents here seemed to be much further along in their dementia/Alzheimer's journey than my loved one was.
My wife has Lewy Body and PCCA dementia and is receiving excellent care. She's been at Barathaven since[dates removed] and her care has been extraordinary. I can drop in any time and find her clean, neat and well taken care of. Her room is always spotless and any request I make of staff is immediately responded to, They conduct a monthly zoom call between management and the families to keep us informed of conditions, changes, events etc. It's an open dialog in which they answer questions and take actions. The staff were good but the community seemed dated. It was clean but it just seemed out dated and closed not a lot of light. The staff and everything were great. The location was also a deciding factor and this community was too far away. They had great follow up and ready to refer to other communities or tour again if needed.

We toured this community and I really liked it. The staff was great, friendly and their communication was wonderful. I think they have a great memory care program and i would have loved for my loved one to come here.
Barathaven provided extra special care especially during this Covid-19 crisis. They Helped families stay in touch with Facetime and calls. Unfortunately my Mother in Law passed away 3 weeks after moving in but they really helped us, they packed up her things and brought them to our front porch. They also helped us arrange to donate and auction off some of her things to benefit the Alzheimer's foundation.
