The staff are so nice here. They treat the residents like family. They have more patience than anywhere we’ve been they are well trained in Alzheimers’s care. Not to say everything and everyone is perfect but about 99%. Some of my husbands clothes have been missing for weeks and haven’t been found. The residents sometimes go into other rooms and pick up things but that can be expected bc they don’t know what they’re doing that stuff makes it’s way back to owner. Activity director is awesome. Our experience with the folks at Barsthaven was quite positive. Everyone was always courteous and helpful and seemed to know their”folks” very well. Unfortunately my husbands decline was very rapid and he passed away after only 3 weeks. The Barathaven staff was very compassionate and helpful through it all.
This the best place for my wife with behavioral issues. The caregivers are very nice,always calling her by her name and two caregivers help her with bathing and dressing, The care givers are trained very well.
I like the care from this community. The staff has been caring. The community is clean and we like knowing that the environment is nice. The menu is good with a nice variety. They offer activities for the residents who are able to participate. We would recommend this community for the good care that is offered. We would highly recommend this community for other families.

My loved one's experience with Barathaven has been good so far. The facility is clean and well maintained. The staff is kind and polite, and my loved one is receiving the care that he needs. I am pleased with the experience so far!
The tour was good here and after talking with the staff, who knew all about the community, I felt they were not able to meet our level of care. The staff was on time for our meeting and the apartment was nice and clean. It just was not going to be a good fit for my uncle.
I felt like they did not watch my mom as well as they should have. I paid extra for urinary incontinence, but they obviously weren't paying attention because when she ended up in the hospital right before she died, her bladder was about to rupture if you were changing diapers and things you would notice that she was not urinating. Then, when my mom passed away, she was taking to the hospital the second day of September, and then she was put in hospice and they would not refund my money. My twin sister was there! When I arrived she told me they didn’t like her! I should have listened to her! They said she couldn’t have ice cream or chicken when every she wanted them. That was a sales pitch. She was miss treated . They had bed bugs ?? The administrator was horrible and the director of nursing. Please pass them by Food was served on paper plates. If I could give them 0 score I would
