My mom, I, and our family are very happy we chose Bixby Knolls Towers. The facility, services, residents and especially all the staff are so much better than we could have imagined. Thanks!

Overall things have gone very Bixby Knolls! They were the friendliest community we saw by far! Both the residents and the staff seemed happy to be there! It was just a nice, clean, warm feeling community in general, and definitely worth a look if you looking into senior living!

AM STILL IN THE PROCESS OF "MOVING IN" BUT SO FAR HAVE FOUND THE RESIDENTS VERY FRIENDLY AND THE STAFF EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND PLEASANT. I HAVE LOOKED AT A NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMMUNITIES AND FEEL THAT THIS ONE , WITHOUT DOUBT, IS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN. THE ROOMS AND SURROUNDINGS ARE ESPECIALLY NICE AND THE AMENITIES ARE PLENTIFUL. I AM GLAD THAT "A PLACE FOR MOM)" TOLD ME ABOUT BIXBY KNOLLS TOWERS.

I am living at Bixby Knolls Towers , independent living, in Long Beach, California for almost 4 years. The apartments here are beautiful. There are Studios, 1 bedroom, and 2 bedroom apartments and all of them also have fully equipped kitchens even though they serve 3 meals a day in the main dining room. Lots and lots of closet space. Bixby Towers used to be a great place to live. We have had family members reside there over the last 15 years. I have witnessed the dramatic decline in amenities and lack of customer service regarding repairs since Pacifica has purchased the property. The environment is unhealthy at times with regard to temperature regulation. There is no air when it's hot or heat when it's cold. The people are friendly, including residents and staff. Specialty food would be beneficial especially since many seniors have some sort of dietary restrictions.

My friend lives in the independent living tower here and tells me that the elevators stop functioning often, new ones are promised by management, but never are installed. Heating has ceased in several apartments, the whole tenth floor at one time in the very recent past. Space heaters are provided, but do not adequately heat living spaces. Additional television channels have been promised after the public station KOCE was arbitrarily removed. The standard reply from management is that they are "waiting for a part". My lower ratings are due to: Recent changes whereby staff no longer empty trash and some residents have trouble carrying trash down the hall to the chute, and also their TV package always seems to have at least 1 network out of order, and no one there is able to repair, and it takes Direct TV multiple weeks to get out and fix. Otherwise they are fine.

Pacifica in San Diego purchased Boxby Towers in June 2023. Faculity is no longer safe. Evacuation failures, no night person, building locked at 5:30pm. Need a FOB to get in. Numerous leaks and floods. Food is heavy on carbs. Promised vegan choices but did not get them.
