Patrick the technician was on time, very professional, thorough and clearly presented what he found was the problem and how he fixed the problem. He then reviewed the entire system in the home and made minor changes to it and presented his observations and potential furture recommendations based upon his review and thorough and diligent testing / diagnosis of the performance of the heating / air distribution. I was very pleased and will definitely use him in the future.
In general, the work was performed well, and quickly. I called to get the work done around 5:30 AM, and he was out here by 8AM, and done with the work by 9AM. Pretty impressive! Less impressive, however, was charging me $500 for a Mars 10466, and telling me I can install it myself when I pointed out the cost seems too high compared to what I can buy it for online ($150, and $350 seems a little high for tax and an hour of labor). It was good. I liked their price. The installers were really good.
They showed up on time and finished on time. I had singed a contract with washington energy services, but then they tried upsell me and refused to honor the contract. I contacted Black Lion and they came out within a day or two to give me an estimat.they hooked me up with a much better system for nearly the same price. The system is working great. So far the heat pump is heating our house even withe temps. down into the teens.
We gathered quotes from about 5 different contractors for this project. Black Lion's quote was the most competitive, and their sales representative (Brian) seemed very knowledgeable.Our house sits close to the lot line, so we were worried that we wouldn't be able to install A/C at all due to the City's code requirements. Of the 6 different quotes I received for a ductless heat pump, Black Lion was by far the least expensive for the best product (Mitsubishi). The installers arrived right on time and had the job finished in about 4-5 hours, just as they promised. They were clean, courteous and efficient. The only negative comment I would make was there was no follow up after the job was done, aside from a "thank you" card that was mailed to me 2 weeks later. Beyond satisfied with every part of this project. We obtained 3 estimates. One was eliminated immediately due to price being almost double.
