Party of 7 for dinner before theater including 3 children. Burgers, pigs in a blanket, steak all good. Chicken pot pie is the BEST! Our server was wonderful - attentive, friendly.
Place was packed for lunch, but there was no delay with seating. Service was prompt and food came out in a reasonable time. Great selection of lunch items.
We enjoyed our lunch at this fine establishment. We did not enjoy getting the bill. We understood that we were paying for location (Times Square). However, the location premium was about 50% over value. A hot dog in a blanket for $14? Really?? A Cobb salad in the $23 range. And the list goes on and on. The food is very good and the servers are fine. This is a perfect example of supply and demand. The supply of tourists is endless so the seats will stay filled. Enjoy your meal but get to an ATM before you dine.
We have eaten at both Brooklyn Diners many, many times and find their "comfort-food plus" menu and ambiance to be the perfect pre-theater or pre-concert dining experience. This visit we were pleasantly surprised to find an old friend, maitre d' Jose (formerly of Cafe 123) greeting us warmly at the door and making sure we got top-notch attention. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and delicious as usual. The evening crowd is usually touristy and this Friday was no exception but these NYers are happy to eat someplace where the... read more
Our time there was too short, due to arriving 25 minutes late for a pre-theater dinner. We still got our table and our waiter was very friendly and efficient. In fact, I had chosen this place because I had very good memories from eating at the other branch of the Brooklyn diner 6 years ago. It didn't disappoint, we had excellent burgers. Hoping to come back for brunch too!
Think kicked up diner food and add $10 to each entree. The food was good. Not exceptional but good. The portions were extremely large. They could cut the size and drop the prices and this would be a great place.
Great for before Theatre- a little pricey, but food is good.8
This is a Times Square tourist eatery with an upscale "diner" menu. $11 oatmeal and $19 omelettes. While I'm willing to pay those prices and take business clients there, I would expect snappier service. The coffee refills kept coming regularly, but there was a lag in clearing the dishes and bringing/collecting the check after we were done eating. Other than that, everything was OK but short of outstanding. I went there for a business breakfast, and will probably try it again for lunch.
Recommended by our daughter. My husband and I needed a place to meet and lunch with my nephew who was visiting from Houston and staying in New Jersey. We enjoyed our lunches and sat for quite awhile. Our nephew is a cancer survivor and eats very slowly. The waiter was wonderful. He was patient and efficient. We were never rushed but always treated respectfully. The ambiance was lovely. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. The proximity to Broadway and the availability of parking at Meyer's garage made the destination exc... read more
