This is a great find in the theater district. Prices are a bit high but worth it for the location.

The Brooklyn Diner is a fun place to go before or after the theater. My cousin and I are both from Brooklyn so we had to go. The food, such as diner food, is quite good. I had a lamb burger which was very tasty; my cousin the pastrami. The portions are large. I had a Godiva egg cream which was delicious. The prices are somewhat higher than our Brooklyn diners of yore, but overall good value for the money. There were lots of families, and folks of all ages. It is a good place.

The Lobster Roll was great, desserts are amazing. Service was good. The best part is the location - this second location off Times Square is perfect for theatre dining, before or after matinees or evening shows.

Food and service are always good; they need to remove one or two tables so that it isn't so cramped.

We had only been to the BD uptown and for breakfast at that. The menu is simple and straightforward. I had an unburger, cooked the way I requested and my husband a burger also properly cooked. Our waiter was attentive, but the busser who placed the plate was borderline rude... Diner style ambiance... get a booth!!!!! The tables for two on the banquette were impossibly close together and would have been uncomfortable. Noise level was ok.... A positive experience in the theater district... not cheap, but what is?

To my knowledge, this is one of the few restaurants suitable for a business breakfast in the nearby Times Square area. If I can find another, I will quickly switch allegiance. The ambience is fun, and out-of-towners enjoy the menu and ginormous servings. But service is spotty, the noise level is uncomfortable, and many aspects of the presentation don't make sense. Why serve butter that is so hard, it's impossible to spread? Why force diners to ask for coffee refills, which any self-respecting diner would pour before being as... read more
