Get directionsI have been a patient at Butler Veterinary Associates for years. I have a 14.5 year old pug who needed to be put to sleep. I called on Saturday to check if they could do it and was quoted a price of $198 for a 27 pound pug, plus an additional $228 for cremation….I am a patient who has given them thousands of dollars over the past 4 years, literally thousands!!!! I called a different vet, of which I am not a patient, and they were able to end my dogs suffering for $52 plus $98 for the cremation. Do NOT use this vet….there is... read more

Terri, I am sorry that you felt that we were not compassionate. We are open everyday of the year to try and help as many clients as we can. I would be happy to talk with you about this situation. Please feel free to give our office a call. 724-283-2345
Our 14 week old golden doodle got her ear wrapped up in a power recliner and we had to call 911 to get her out. She ripped her ear very badly and was bleeding extensively. We called to try to get our puppy in to be seen. The first words out of their mouths were “ are you a client” as our puppy was in the background yelping in agony. We said no and they turned us away. They said they only had one vet on duty. We then had to drive 45 mins with our wounded puppy to another facility. Absolutely disgusted with this place… Its abh... read more
Business response:
Justen, we are sorry that we couldn't see your golden doodle. When we are ER at night we do only have one doctor on and if they are in surgery they would not be able to see any other patients. We are trying to do everything we can to help as many pets as we can. I am sorry that we could not help you in this situation.
Horrible customer service. Go somewhere else.
Business response:
Natalie, I am sorry that you had a bad experience. I can't find your account in our system to see what happened. I would be happy to talk with you to discuss the situation. Please call our office at 724-283-2345. Thank you.
My sister and brother in law recently had an emergency where their dog was choking on a treat. They called this vet and were turned away. In the very least you would think this vet that claims to be an “emergency center” would explain how to do the Heimlich remover over the phone, but no. My panicking sister in-law was told to take her gasping dog to Pittsburgh?! This vet is not an emergency center. I recommend you change your description.
Business response:
Hannah, we only have one ER doctor until Midnight. That doctor was in a emergency surgery. She would have been unable to see the dog. I know it is very frustrating and I am sorry that your family had to go through this event. We are unable to help all that we would like. We are open 16 hours a day, 365 days a year to try and help as many as we can. Also, we are legally not allowed to give medical advise over the phone. Again, I am truly sorry that we couldn't help.
We had an emergency with our dog at 11:00 pm. He was choking on a treat and it was lodged. He was having trouble breathing. We called and were basically told, "we're booked. Try PVSEC in Pittsburgh." Luckily my husband had the idea to Google how to perform the heimlich on dogs. We were able to save our dog on our own, no thanks to them.
Seems they care more about profit than taking care of animals. Will not allow owners in with their animals. My cat Little Fluff was abused my a vet tech at the place on Evans City Road and I will not allow him to go anywhere alone again. I thought the vet seemed okay, but just another company saving time and not wanting to deal with clients who pay the bills. It is very sad that Veterinarians do this.
Business response:
Mary, I am sorry that you are upset that you are unable to come in to our clinic. Unfortunately, veterinarian office staff was only eligible for the vaccine about two weeks ago. We have to ensure that are staff doesn't get sick along with our clients. We are open 16 hours a day, 365 days of the year to help as many pets as possible. We have not shortened our hours or closed due to pandemic. We are all looking forward to having clients back in the building as soon as possible. This truly is not a time saver for us, there... read more
They are an extremely hateful group of people towards the animals and their owners. It’s funny how when they make a mistake or cause a problem they are quick to tell you to not come back and not complete their job but will be quick to charge you for it. F this group!
This establishment is very unprofessional. They refused to see my pet because of their personal bias. They do not put the care of animals first and it is very disappointing. I will not be doing business with them again in the future.
This vet left a cat in pain and refused to do the required surgery for the poor animal. The place is highly unprofessional and the manager is clearly not doing her job correctly. Butler Veterinary Clinic is more interested in profit than aiding the animals they are supposed to serve with kindness. I won’t bring my animals there and you shouldn’t either. Big disappointment
