Smaller and cozy setting steps away from main Lincoln Center theaters. A lot quieter than all other nearby restaurants. Being just days away from Christmas it was a very pleasant surprise to have a trio of professional carolers briefly stroll through the restaurant.

It was next to impossible to find a reservation for a quick dinner last night (7 pm Nutcracker at Lincoln Center) I came across Cafe Paradiso after daughter made a reservation some blocks north on Columbus. The pictures make it look more like a order-at-the-counter-and-find-a-table but the inside was festively decorated, the hostess found our reservation quickly and seated us at a table with half-booth and two chairs at the far end of the restaurant, which I always prefer, a bit quieter. If you're heading to LCT--Beaumont or Newhouse--or even Alice Tully for that matter, you can't go wrong with Cafe Paradiso. The food is good, reasonably healthy, and well-priced. The place is pretty, and the service excellent and friendly. We were seeing Amahl (they ask) and our charming server said she grew up in San Diego, and performed in Amahl every Christmas. Ddin't expect it to be so nice- atmosphere was modern yet warm and inviting, service fast and good, menu wasn't huge but had variety. We ate before the theatre, it was perfect- no stress of getting to the show on time!

We had to wait 20 min before they took our orders. The roasted potatoes were ordered as a side order but it came as an appetizer. While they weee good it was strange eating them and still waiting for our main dishes. Pr pi Suryo and Brie sandwich was good. But the bolognese dish was mediocre ( the sauce was watery). The strawberry matcha tea tasted only of coconut water and little else. Nice waiter great atmosphere. Good location but the food and service were ok.

We’ve been to this restaurant many times. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. Several menu options are no longer available. The Nicole Salad arrived with no egg; we were told that the restaurant was out of eggs. Why they allowed servers to continue to allow people to order it is inexplicable. Food was decent, tasted fresh. Service was friendly and attentive. Music was a bit too loud. Biggest complaint is banquet seating is downright uncomfortable, with seat depth too shallow and back too straight up with any contour for a typical back.
