Get directionsI was transferred here from the hospital for mental health help. Everything went fine the first day but after day it was wonky. There weren’t enough groups, they gave me the wrong medication, they took off the door knobs to the bathroom so there was no privacy, and they took all the activities out of the unit. My biggest gripe is while I was at my most vulnerable the business manager pulled me into an office to talk to me about billing. He said I had to pay before I could leave. I didn’t have any personal belongings on me s... read more
Struggled between giving CP two or three stars. But "could've been better" (the two-star rating) summed up my three-week stay the best. Intake was a living nightmare. I arrived via ambulance from Mercy Creve Coeur and was immediately led downstairs and ordered to surrender my street clothes, cell phone, wallet, all personal effects. Dehumanizing. But it got worse -- much worse. I was then led into the "Intake and Assessment" hallway. Dungeon-like, with people actively going through withdrawal, still drunk, high, etc. in sm... read more
I went here when I was 20. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder by a psychiatrist there. They neglected to put it on my chart and like everyone else who has been here, they put bipolar disorder in my chart instead, which was never discussed. I ended up on bipolar meds that killed my brain cells and lowered my IQ and drove me crazy, by a centerpointe psychiatrist I was following up with. I even ended up dropping out of nursing school. I fought for 2 years to get re diagnosed with BPD but I was told I was too y... read more
Centerpointe is not designed to heal patients. You should not seek treatment there for any reason. I was an involuntary admission at Centerpointe for 6 days. I began voluntary at another hospital and was brought to Centerpointe for treatment, where I was declared involuntary within 4 hours, without ever being seen by a provider. Over the 6 days I was a patient, I was seen by a provider 5 times for a total of maybe 20 minutes. Only two of these encounters were with a psychiatrist, both lasting less than 5 minutes. I never sa... read more
PLEASE AVOID! I was wrongfully admitted here. I made the mistake of coming in and asking about outpatient therapy and getting on new medicine and just for emphasis, I mentioned suicidal ideation I had A MONTH PRIOR and the doctor took advantage and made me stay. There was no crisis, no immediate danger, I just wanted new medicine. Even the nurses were telling the doctor to let me leave. When I finally spoke to her, she just talked over me the whole time and overprescribed me. She tried putting me on FIVE different pills when... read more
