Beautiful home and decor. Very feminine. Not very many men.
I really liked. The alsheimers unit was huge. Trying to remember size of rooms. I think they were small.
She loved the decor and was very impressed with the Alzheimers unit ... and we very much liked the manager PLUS it was the first place where she felt the food was good. However, it was smaller (fewer residents) than she liked and it was further from me than she wished to live.
My dad only ended up living for one week when transferred to Charter, so my experience is limited. It is difficult to work with Charter and Gilchrist Hospice together and to get medication when first getting there or a new prescription or a change in instruction as their pharmacy is in Virginia and delivers in the middle of the night. I felt gaslight when expressing concerns about my dad to both Charter and Hospice. Yes, there are improvements. Why are they asking me to bring bath soap/wash and deodorant for my mother when we pay them [fee removed] per month? Shouldn't they supply that? Also several months ago we took 4 or 5 large black bags full of unopened Depends to the facility and they still charged us a monthly fee. ????? Also, I don't find out about happenings at the facility until it is too late to make plans to be there.

The food can always be better but both of our loved ones have gained weight there so it can't be that bad. The pricing could be better too. Mom complained about the lack of activities and that almost all the other residents were wheelchair bound and more feeble than she

The move in process left a lot to be desired. It took they forever to fix the broken drawer in my mom's room and the broken toilet paper holder and the cable still does not work almost two months later. I don't think much of the doctor/nurse practitioner. I asked them for a letter from the doctor to take to the social security office about a month ago and am still waiting. I had to cancel my appointment with the SS office. Also, I had an appointment for a care meeting 3 days ago and am still waiting to hear from them. I thin... read more
