The friend whom we convinced to go to Charter has a lot of anxiety issues, and although the apartment that she has is very similar to the apartment in an independent living facility that she left, there are still issues. Perhaps because of staff turnover, it has been difficult for her to get a regular shower schedule, and to get advance notice of when that will happen. It would be good if they had a resident handbook and suggestions on how to deal with particular problems, or how to better adapt to the facility and communica... read more
They could have more activities, and I wish my loved one could eat in the assisted living side as I think the food may be better. My loved one still has her wits about her. She is cognitive unlike most of the ones in memory care.
My brother was warmly welcomed into the community and he’s receiving the care he needs. He has significant health conditions and the staff is taking good care of him. He has repeatedly told me that he’s happy there and is glad he made the move to this community.

I'd say it's good. Always friendly folks and we like that we can bring the dog on visits.

Staff at Charter Senior Living of Verona are friendly, but a few more activities would be welcome, such as afternoon exercise classes. I will say the food was better before charter senior living took over. It was about a 5 up until April when they replaced Cedarhurst Verona as management. Cedarhurst's restaurant style menu was a big reason to choose them.
In comparison to other alternatives, Charter Senior Living of Verona (formerly Cedarhurst) is a safe, caring and very affordable home for seniors.
We liked the experience at Cedarhurst of Verona. The staff was friendly and helpful. Great place for my dad. He enjoyed it up until the day he died. Overall the services cover everything the patient needs and they work well with the family.
Business response:
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We're so glad to hear that your dad enjoyed his time at Cedarhurst of Verona and that our staff could provide the support he needed. Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we're honored to have been able to serve your family during this time.
The food is a bright spot, especially with their new expanded, restaurant style menu. Their promise of this change was one big reason I chose Cedarhurst. The common interior areas can seem a bit dingy. This is a significant drawback. I would recommend them as a mid price range facility. There are fancier places but they are significantly more expensive.
Our family had an in person tour with Cedarhurst of Verona community and overall the community as well as the tour experience was great
