This place is a pretty good spot to get your spicy chicken sandwich. The breading is nice and crunchy and doesn't taste like old oil or over salted like some bad chicken sandwich places. The chicken is still pretty juicy too! I'm a spicy food lover and if you are too, then go straight for the spiciest they got. It's not that spicy. It's somewhere around 5/10. We were trying to decide what to eat and we wanted to try out a place we never had. So we went to the El Cajon Dave's hot chicken the place is 25 min from my house and the parking was bad . But the min we walked in the people were very welcoming and the cashier was ever more awesome. She recommended what to order and even gave us the secret to Dave hot secret sauce ... the food came out fast and especially for a holiday the place was open and the fully staff. Edit: my review had changed from 3 stars to 5. I initially gave 3 stars based off of waiting time-the restaurant is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. However, i ended up waiting 20, 20+ minutes for my order before . The manager reached out and want to make things right. On the visit today, it was ensured that my food would arrive much quicker, and it did! It took only 5 or so minutes. Way faster than before. The customer service definitely earned them a 5 star rating. Thanks again!

Just look at the pictures and see how it good it looks? That secret sauce for dipping would probably end all wars on earth. Enjoy some spice in your life and grab a sandwich. Don't make this lunch or dinner choice hard

I ordered online and waited over 40 min for my food. Other guests who ordered at the kiosk after I had already been waiting... received their food before I did. Absolutely ridiculous. I don't blame the workers. They were kind and working hard. Dave's do better!!!

So apparently if you order no sauce on your sandwiches, you no longer get a side in the meal? I order no slaw or sauce just so if I don't eat all it, it's not soggy later. Also, what's the point in asking if I want honey, ketchup and napkins only to have zero provided. I don't get how hard it is to read a receipt...it states very clearly what I wanted. My bad once again for not checking.
