I've been to Dave's hot numerous times. Chicken is spicy, fries and bread were ok. Size of the chicken was also ok. The 4 stars is from based off the taste and spice of the chicken. The portion size, price and taste goes to main chick and red chickz. Those are my top Hot chicken spots in San Diego.

Food is good! Spiciness is a good amount. the fries have great seasoning and the sauce is great. They have a variety of drinks and creamy milkshakes
Some of the best chicken very spicy even at the medium. I think you'll be completely satisfied after trying the sandwich, and/or the finger chickens. Don't forget the shake. They are straight up good!

First off the food was amazing! the service was A1, was genuinely not having the best day, however i chose to dine in and the Ambiance was amazing and everything made my day 10x better!!!! Thank you i will definitely be back;)
10/10 business always coming here with the family and the chicken is super soft juicy and crispy. I'm always going to come back here.
