TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

Xio, Sean, and the staff were the best... this was my first experience at Dave's Hot chicken. The music was good, the food was AMAZING, it was hot and above all it was fresh, I started with the mild to see how it would be and it was off the charts good. This was my first time at any Dave’s Hot Chicken. I ordered one tender and fries. I did level “hot” for the tender. I was very surprised at how crispy and juicy the tender was. It was very good and tasty with all white meat. The fries are nothing special and could be priced less for the amount I got, but they get the job done as a good compliment to the tender. I enjoyed the sauce for the tender also.
While looking for a place for buffalo wings I bumped into this national chain. They do not use MSG, which is critical for me. The people in the restaurant were absolutely lovely. The chicken was moist on the inside and crispy on the outside, so perfect. And the fries were equally good. I don't get the cheap white bread and just tossed that out. Let me start by saying that this was my first time trying hot chicken from any establishment. I got the "hot" and "medium" spice levels and my food was hot & fresh. It was decent overall but it didn't knock my socks off. The service here was great and pretty swift and the restaurant overall was clean and had a nice vibe.
I have seen this chain in a few different cities. This evening I’m passing on everything Charlotte NC has to offer and checking it out. I got the tender meal that is not a true chicken tender but a piece of chicken breast. Just to manage expectations for us that know the difference between the different parts of a chicken.🐓 For fear of tomorrow’s passing I decided on the hot instead of the 2 higher spice level.
