Decided to give Dave's Hot Chicken a try as it's been open for a while now in the TMU area. Went around lunch hour on a weekday and luckily not too busy with students. There were a couple of empty tables and seats but would give cleanliness a 2/5 as all the tables had leftover crumbs, sauce, etc. Ordered combo 1 ($17.99 before tax) which includes two tenders, two pieces of bread, fries, and pickles. This was my first time trying Dave's hot chicken, since there are no locations where I live in the United States. I had seen their restaurants on social media and was excited to try. It did not disappoint. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were very friendly and explained everything very well. We ordered the one tender and one slider combo to get a feel for both since it was our first time. Food: 4/5 - 2 tenders and fries: Pretty good! Much different than Popeyes and KFC; really enjoyed the fried chicken and the seasoning on the chicken was so nice. The fries were really good fresh too; I'd definitely get it again! Service: 4/5 it was a little slow because it was busy, but everyone was friendly! Ambiance: 3/5 given its downtown, it wasn't very clean. It wasn't dirty, but it wasn't clean. However, this is similar to other large franchises in the area, so not specific to them.

Really good, fresh made to order, hot fried chicken tenders. Please note they do not offer any bone-in fried chicken. Dipping sauce and pickles are outstanding, crinkle cut fries are really enjoyable. Usually order the slider and tender combo, and I go for pretty hot, which is really, really, really, really hot! If you have a craving for spicy fried chicken, you cannot go wrong here :) Service is fast and friendly, ambiance is clean and energetic.

After seeing the photos from this restaurant on yelp I had great expectations for the food. However, the portions I got looked a lot smaller than other reviews. The cheese in the mac and cheese tasted like nacho cheese, which wasn't exactly what I was hoping to get for the price. I did like the different options for spice level of the chicken. I will say the chicken is on point, super delicious, large pieces, i ordered the double sandwich meal, the buns were very fresh the chicken had a nice light batter which was perfectly spiced, i chose hot, and it was adequately hot, nothing you'd be fanning your mouth over, just hot enough. The chicken was really good, i thoroughly enjoyed it.
